Bomber from Steve’s in Fitchburg, cellar aged 2 months and shared with ck1. Pours a very dark brown with a light brown head. Aroma has choco/caramel with a touch of fruit. Taste is similar but a bit watery. More chocolatey. Finishes sweetly bitter. Shrug, ok, but not great. 14.2 Schuchardta (1) - - APR 24, 2014 does not count
Extremely good stout. Very strong coffee notes. Thick beer that warms the insides after just a sip or two. Would recommend. Rossco123 (1) - tbilisi, GEORGIA - MAR 20, 2014 does not count
OMG, I LOVE this beer. Well, it doesn’t hurt that I’m now in the former soviet union drinking it!! It came to me here in Georgia, all the way from Madison, WI. Thanks House of Brews! I love you guys! jlruthven (612) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 20, 2013
Sampled at the Frank Beer expo. Pours solid black with mocha head. A little alcohol legs, not much lacing. Nose is baker’s chocolate, bit of brown sugar, wood, and hop astringency. The hops are present but subdued on palate, with silky, jammy chocolate notes taking over. A little thin on the mouthfeel, but a pretty good, easy-drinking impy stout. esjaygee (3902) - Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA - SEP 1, 2012
On tap at Tex Tubbs where Hole Five guy works. Dark brown with a creamy brown crown that sticks around. Aroma is dark and chocolaty with light pine, citrus and dark roasted malts. Taste is a nice balance of pine and dark malts with chocolate, sweet dark malts and some citrus beneath. Perhaps a bit too chocolaty for a black IPA but decent nonetheless. Hole five guy, thanks for sponsoring the old hole five at Dretzka, as part of GDG I’m happy to say we sponsor the new hole five.
