2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
This is a beer made with Rye malt a different taste. Not what I would expect in a ESB. Different, not my cup of beer.
On tap at great dane. Not to spicy with the rye, but the hoppiness is there. Definitely prefer it over a Ruthless Rye. Skyview (6045) - Papoose Jct, Minnesota, USA - APR 22, 2012
Sampled on draught back in October 2011 at the Vintage brewpub in Madison, Wisconsin. Pours a semi-clear golden amber colored brew with an average sized off-white head that quickly dissipates and leaves behind some potty lacing. Aroma of multi-grain malt, a hint of rye, some dusty english hops and a touch of tart apple? Taste is light to medium bodied, flavors of multi-grain malt, a hint of spicy grassy and burnt hops and a touch of vegetable. Finish is semi-dry, mild medicinal hop aftertaste. This is House of Brew’s inaugurational beer before they became familiar with their equipment. Willing to try this again. arkurzynski (2427) - Combined Locks, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 27, 2011
On tap at Hyrdo Street Brewing. Gold color with little head. Plain generic pale malt nose with mild rye spice. Taste is base malt, faint rye complexity, and mild generic hopping. Average mouthfeel. Not bad, just not memorable. nuplastikk (6275) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - NOV 7, 2011
Guest tap at Vintage. Hazy golden orange. Steady creamy head. Buttery, odd aroma. Only in WI would a company introduce themselves with a piece of crap beer like this. The style is retarded in the first place, advertised as a Rye Kolsch. Full of cheap off flavors. Buttery DMS/Diacetyl overload. Should have been dumped down the drain. Bad.

On tap at Vintage brewpub. Golden yellow with a thin off-white head. Aroma is pretty mild with grains, light rye and a bit of fruity yeast. Taste is mild as well with lemon, rye, diacetyl and some grains. A tad oily as well. madvike (3260) - Middleton, Wisconsin, USA - OCT 8, 2011
On tap at Vintage - Pours clear yellow with next to no head. A bit of apple on the nose, with otherwise pretty subdued. A little spicy rye, but that’s about it. Taste is lightly spicy rye, with a bit of light sweet malt, apple tones, and a touch of smoke. Light and nicely carbed. Not too bad. cbfobes (2883) - Quad Cities, Illinois, USA - SEP 11, 2011
On tap at Vintage in Madison, WI, new brewery that’s starting up in Madison area, always exciting! Pours a clear pale golden with a nice thick white head and some spotty lacing, the aroma is fairly musty with notes of yeast and some spices with a small hint of fruit, the flavor is what I expected from the aroma, pretty musty and yeasty on the front end with slight metal touch in the finish. Honestly this has never been my favorite style but this brew seems light and easy drinking. Welcome to Madison!
