1L swingtop. Prototypical small Canadian craft amber. Malt, vanilla and metallic. Looks nice with a lasting head, lacing and red amber. Vanilla cream ale scent. Nice cream body but metallic edge brings the score down. Flavour that if they dropped column A and added column B would be great but instead a weird tree bark, amber and metallic. Dark red amber, nice head. Malty caramel aroma, sweet caramel malty taste... needs more hops to balance it out, but still enjoyable.

Hazy red-amber color, with a giant compact head. The aroma is just a bit sourish, maybe something’s wrong here. Caramel flavor, with correct bitterness, and just a light metallic touch. Plain, maybe off, although purchased just one month ago.
Bottled. A dark amber beer with a huge beige head, over cabonated seemingly infected. the aroma has notes of cruit and malt. The flavor is sweet with is sweet with notes of malt, and fruits, leading to a bitter finish. The body is light. Thanks fiulijn for sharing. 1L flip-top, shared with Parksy and Dave. Bright copper, medium light beige head. Aroma is sweet caramel, hints of autumn leaves. Flavour is pretty straightforward caramel, with light earthy and nutty notes. Straightforward little amber-- just the style that pulled me away from lagers over 20 years ago, but now holds little appeal other than nostalgia.

On tap at St. Augustine’s, pours dark amber with a white head. Aroma of nothing but dry caramel malts. Flavour is much the same, with some dry fruits thrown in there as well. Not one of Howe Sound’s better brews.
