Black pour with huge fluffy tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, earthy, leather. Taste of roasted malts, hint of chocolate, touch of coffee and a nice oatmeal backbone. Medium carbonation, a touch thin but overall a very good high quality brew, much enjoyed!

Big dark and smooth. Good roast but not bitter. 1 liter resealable bottle a plus for this home brewer.

piscator34 (2577) - Winnipeg, Manitoba, CANADA - NOV 28, 2013
Draft sample at Barley Bros. Almost black in colour with medium carbonation. Aromas are of dark roast coffee, milk chocolate, and pale malt. The roast is very strong in the mouth, and is backed by notes of vanilla fudge, and a bit of red wine. Light bodied for the style, but not bad overall.

Man, this is good brew. Poured a tad warm with a colossal, foamy, frothy, fluffy, tan head that lasts for a while and a bit a lace. Color is a clear, almost opaque garnet. Aroma is roast, malt, dark old leather, earth, hint of funk. Flavors somewhat like nose with bittersweet malt and tang up front and very well balanced. Body is strangely light yet full with spot on carbonation. Finish is like flavor, a hint of smoke and good length. Super drinkable. Wish we could get it locally.

northropfrye (3662) - Steinbach, Manitoba, CANADA - NOV 10, 2013
On tap at Barley Brothers, Winnipeg. Compared this back to back with the Russell Porter, and they both had similar roast elements to them. Black body obviously. The palate was a bit thicker and nicer on this one. Overall a decent stout.

From a 1 liter bottle shared at the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Aroma roasted grain. Dark roasty flavors, with some licorice. Bitter roasted finish.

icehawk (834) - Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, USA - JUL 7, 2013
Appearance: Pitch black with robust creamy khaki head
Aroma: Cola, chocolate, coffee
Taste: Earthy, bittersweet chocolate, coffee
Palate: Creamy, full bodied. Good carbonation, lively mouthfeel. Smooth finish with bitter undertones.
Overall: Relatively bitter for an oatmeal stout, and very full bodied for the ABV.
