Christmas ale out early this year! Giant 1L bottle shared with Rockley. Pours a dark honey amber with a brief white head. Very spicy sweet aroma that instantly reminds me of those little windmill-shaped spice cookies that Superstore bakery used to give out to kids for free. Flavour of spice cookies: vanilla, nutmeg, and cinnamon, a little marzipan. Warming finish. Not bad, but I yearn for more malt (and darker malt too).

2008-08-07. Dark amber body with a modest beige head. (3+) Aroma is fruity, raisins? Light spice. (6+) Flavour is similar, fruity, modest malt with a dry finish. Average palate is okay but feels thin for the beer. Alcohol is not particularly noticeable. Okay, bit mild overall. Probably has slightly more oomph to it closer to the brewing date - I assume this is from this past winter. Would try again. Bottle, Shared at Derek’s

1 L fliptop bottle. Copper-amber colour beer with a thin off-white head. Big spicy aroma of nutmeg, orange peel and cinnamon. There are some sweet caramel and munich malts backing up the strong spicing. Flavour is quite astringent though. Spices are definitely there but they have added a touch of woodiness (not the good kind). Flavour is dominated by sweet orange peel, light malt. Body is a bit thin for this brew. Lingering sweet fruitiness.

[2426-20090807] 1L bottle. Brandy spicy worchester sauce aroma. Clear, amber brown body with a quick foamy off-white head. Sweet worchester syrup flavour is mildly spicy. Medium body. Really interesting sauce characteristics.

1L giganto swingtop, capped. The usual Howe Sound home-protection device packaging. Pours a dark murky amber with a nice creamy tan head. Big sweet clove and cinnamon nose, very treacly and gingerbready. Fairly flat, fairly light body. Caramel, gingerbread, molasses, and light pie spice on the mid palate. Mild sweet finish. Appealing enough and perfectly drinkable, but could definitely benefit from some complexity.

A big ol 1 Liter flip top Labeled with Winter Ale. Pours out a brown with some red highs topped with a small head. Aroma was of sweet spice and ginger bread cookies. Taste was more of the spice some nutmeg, and cinnamon along with sweet molasses. A tasty winter brew thanks Matt.

Bottle 1000 ml
Aroma soft frontal nose, aromatic with hints of clove and other spices. Pumpkin, vanilla and malts behind. Very proper.7+
Appearance hazed amber red. Good shade of it. Mid bone white smallish top.4-
Flavor and Palate : Medium light body. Still , mild with set of spices on top. Clove even some chocolate , sugars followed with vanilla , hibiscus and caramel. Gives holiday vibe.

HogTownHarry (6925) - Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, CANADA - SEP 10, 2012
September 20, 2011 - bottle sample at Volo. Clear bright deep ruby with an average frothy white creamy head. Some alcohol in the aroma, also leafy bitterness, nutshell ... a bit spicy, but dry, and not terribly sweet - cereal grain, a bit toasty. Taste is very pleasant - again, I get a hint of red wine in their beers - odd! - simple spice and a bit like a yeasty nutty fruitcake, but hoppy and slightly alcoholic. Sticky, decent body, mild carbonation with a quick finish.
