Good amount of slightly tan head. Pours as a dark redish brown.
Almost feels like this beer is bitter to punish me. Fairly lasting taste so I opted to eat some Korean food while I drank this beer. Would recommend with strong flavourful food but not by itself. pictoman (1129) - British Columbia, CANADA - JAN 1, 2014
Poured from 1L bottle. Very dark brown with off-white head. Aroma of herbal hops. Roasty hoppy flavour. presario (4916) - Stampede City, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 23, 2013
Stop rating for most of a year and everything is new again. Thick off-white foam on dark reddish-brown liquid has a gathering storm quality. Sweetish aroma with hints of hickory, fruit, bark and caramel. Smooth and easy drinking with a building flavor through the sip. Best part is a tasty bitter herb hop finish with a trace of licorice. patricks110 (2496) - Alberta, CANADA - DEC 3, 2013
Wildly bland and a bit boring in general with a murky brownish body and a head of huge sticky yellow. The nose is mild with a few citrus notes and a hit of resinous pine. Mild flavour malts with a hint of toast and caramel..a bit of a heavy bitterness on the finish Alanthebeerguy (213) - British Columbia, CANADA - NOV 9, 2013
Winter dark ale. Cloudy brown . Smells of roasted caramel malts, smokey and sweet toffee. Taste is a big mouthful of roasted smokey malts, a little sweet. Finish is more bitter with some hop. Not bad for a winter beer, maybe a little too sweet.

Bottle 100cl. w. swing top.
Clear dark brown colour with a small to average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, chocolate, dusty malt. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, roasted bitter, dusty malt, light hop resin. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
Bottle. Hazy chestnut brown with a small off white head. Aroma is butterscotch, caramel malt, light noble hops. Taste is light+ sweet and medium bitter. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Dry medium bitter finish. Like the finish, but a bit weird balance for a black IPA. Theis (15152) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - MAR 12, 2013
Bottle at Yespr’s - Thanks. Clear amber/brown - offwhite head. Candy, light smokey, chocolate, fruity, ryebread, nutty, ok hoppy, some bitterness, piney, citrus, bread, caramel, toffee. faroeviking (10913) - FAROE ISLANDS - MAR 2, 2013
From a growler. Hazy amber brown, beige head, small. Well toasted maltiness with caramel and citrus in the aroma. Ok mouthfeel. Pleasant well toasted maltiness in the flavour along with caramel, some citrussy fruitish like hops, and soft pleasant bitterness. Gracias al señor Alex.
