Draft - Lots of pine with a hint of roast. Clear copper with a small beige head. Lots of wood and some fresh grassy leafy herbal notes that is strong and overpowering. Not enough roast, colour is wrong, in fact everything is. Confirmed with bartender, this is it. TimE (6130) - Tokyo, JAPAN - JAN 9, 2015
For a black IPA this lacks much hop character, roasted Malts are not all the roasty and I picked up a bit of molasses. A by directionless. MunBro (942) - St. Albert, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 13, 2014
UPDATED: DEC 14, 2014 Wooo! Hoppy and dark. Tons of pine and citrus flavours blast through a nice roasted malt backing. Super well balanced and lots of flavour. Loving all the new Howe Sound ones. RichardW (1813) - Carlisle, Cumbria, ENGLAND - AUG 11, 2014
Litre bottle from Jasper Wine Cellar & Liquor store. Great rich spicy aroma and taste, pouring a dark brown-black. Dry and full flavoured, with chocolate and ripe fruit notes. Bitter and roast coffee finish. Excellent. Ipaluvr082 (71) - Alberta, CANADA - MAY 28, 2014
Good medium brown pour with fine cream head. Nose is roasty malt, chocolate, honey. This beer Tastes roasty and slightly bitter with a piney finish. Not bad, I’ll see if I still think so after the one litre bottle!

Well...its not black. But it has nice lacing. Aromas are malty and biscuity. Dark malts and some hop finish. Decent. Oakes (18794) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - APR 13, 2014
UPDATED: APR 19, 2014 Med brown, earthy, woody example...lots of bitterness, wood, breadcrust...good body, just enough sweetness to make it go down well.

I enjoyed this at Barley Brothers in Winnipeg. Dark with lots of roastiness and some dark chocolate element. Bitter but not crazy bitter. Nice beer! northropfrye (3691) - Steinbach, Manitoba, CANADA - JAN 30, 2014
Sweet and roasty aroma. Even some honey on the nose. Dark body plenty of lacing. Very roasty tasting in contrast to a sweeter aroma. Some hops but not a very bitter black IPA. More roast than hops especially in the aftertaste maley1 (1301) - Calgary, CANADA - JAN 26, 2014
Dark brown with reddish hue pour with frothy tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, slight citrus, faint caramel and piney hops. Taste of burnt roasted malts, faint caramel, bitter hop finish. Full bodied, medium carbonation, long bitter cloying finish.
