Had a sampler glass at the brewery. Aroma: notes of plastic, bananas, peaches. Appearance: cloudy yellow - looks like a delicious hefeweizen. Palate: smooth and oily. Taste: pear juice, very bitter, not sweet like expected. yuck. Could not finish.

Tap at St. Augustines. Clear pale straw pour. The nose has lots of soft spice and a restrained banana fruitiness. Nice balance and there is a bit of wheat malt character as well. Nice integration with an appropriately tart - almost citrusy finish. It’s a very tasty hefeweizen - creamy palate. This keg seems to have dropped quite bright.

In short: A big thick classic german hefe on steroids. Nothing less, nothing more.
How: Bottle 1L. Consumed very fresh a few weeks after purchase. Dinner with friends. Bottle sent to me by mcberko, thanks a lot Matt
The look: Cloudy yellow body topped by a small white head
In long: The strong nose has a lot of banana bread with light bubblegum notes. Body is full and thick without feeling heavy. Taste is full of fresh banana bread and banana cake with light notes of pineapples. The beer is both nourishing and refreshing. One of the few high abv german hefe done right. This is supposed to be a german hefe on steroids and it smells and tastes like a german hefe on steroids. That was one of the two many good beers we drank in our annual decadent 12 services dinner. Life is hard I’m telling you, very hard. In my case life is one long uphill struggle not to become an obese alcoholic.

Bottle. Milky yellow, white head. Dry spicy aroma, mainly clove. Sweet base, orangepeel, light candied Ginger, clove. Chewy, sparkly mouthfeel. Deceptively light on the palate and easy to drink - feels like a regular hefeweizen. Banana And very light alcohol retronasal.

Colour: slight clouded yellow/orange. ..creamy head. Nose: Fresh Tobacco, spoiled banana, bordeaux wine. Taste: Sweet wheat...instense amounts. The bitter grains give way to mellow vanilla caramel and poppyseeds. Banana creeps in late and starts to rot as it goes further and further into the palate and eventually into the depths. Rich and hearty but not perfect.

UPDATED: JAN 15, 2011 The flavor gives some banana and other citrus notes. I get a good amount of yeast and as well a bunch of clove. The aroma has some good banana notes and some spiciness Pour’s a cloudy yellow with some orange hue’s. It has a decent white head that tends to linger around with some sticky lacing. The finish is a little spicy from the saz hops. You get some good clove flavor’s coming through. This has a little high alcohol content for a hefeifzen. It’s the second beer I have tried from these guys. All in all not a bad beer. I look forward to trying some of there other stuff.

Bottle enjoyed in the sun despite smoke from BC forest fires. Dark amber. Well behaves lasting head and sticky lacing. Aroma of alcohol yeast banana and clove. Taste is thinner than scent with dominant alcohol which is not too strong on its own but in lack of balance. Seems to have a bit of harshness. Notes of banana it is not a bad afternoon summer treat.

Giant swing-top shared with my father-in-law. Pours a hazy golden yellow with a dense, marshmallowy head. Nice aroma and flavours of banana, spices, and estery yeast. Creamy mouthfeel, smooth and silky. Fantastic hefe!

On tap. Deep gold with nice big head that dissipates quickly. No lace. Taste and aroma of banana and clove. The high alcohol is well-hidden. Low to medium carbonation. Very good wheat ale.
