Pours with a nice dark head, can immediately smell the licorice. Has an awesome earthy musty licorice flavour, not too sweet. I could drink this anytime. presario (4925) - Stampede City, Alberta, CANADA - NOV 22, 2012

1 L swingtop bottle. Pours opaque black with a thick beige head that leaves sheeting lace. Aroma is full of licorice and that’s all I really smell. Tastes just like a bag of quality black licorice, which is a good flavor in my opinion. Starts out a little sweet before turning bitter. Mouthfeel = creamy, carbonation just right. Overall, an extreme beer that tastes good and isn’t over the top for a palate that’s ready for this type of shit. For the uninitiated, stay away.

Pour black with huge light brown head. Aroma big time anise/licorice, roast, coffee, chocolate. Taste plant bitterness, roasty, dark chocolate, licorice, coffee. 2011-09-30. Black body with a nice foamy brown head. Pleasant aroma, modest sweet malt, licorice notes smell like a high quality licorice candy. 7+ Flavour is similar, mild sweet dark malt with a good amount of licorice flavour throughout. Very light bitterness keeps it from becoming cloying. Smooth medium to full bodied palate is nice. Solid, the licorice is pretty prominent and how much you like it will shape how much you like the beer. Personally I quite enjoy it, but its a bit much for a 1L bottle! Made for sharing.
