3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Copper body with quick fading head. Aroma is brown bread with a hint of nutella. Medium body with nice carbonation. Malty, some roasty flavour and a carmel sweetness before finishing quick.
Poured into a pint glass, the appearance was a ruddy amber color with a sly transparency about it. Finger’s worth of white foamy head quickly dissipated. Left some stringy lace.
The aroma had some nuts, toast, brown sugar and a touch of caramel malts.
The flavor blended the prior noted aromas sweetly and then the toast and just a tad of roast. Semi-sweet malty aftertaste with a nutty finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt spot on.
Overall, nice amber ale worthy of coming back to if I could get it again. Gerbeer (4148) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 23, 2014
On tap. Pours a clear mahogany with moderate head, aromas of nuts, sweet toasted malts and brown sugar. Flavors are same tough stronger. Metallic nutty finish. mcberko (19804) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 30, 2012
On tap at the Alibi Room, pours a hazy copper / orange with a small white head. Aroma of copper-like malt and metallic notes. Flavour of metallic notes and dry English bready malts. Very bland, but dry and would be very drinkable if not for the metallic notes. Too much metallic / coppery flavour. Hooker (468) - Coquitlam, British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 26, 2012
Slightly cloudy orange amber colour with moderate biege head. Mild citric and malt nose. Dry bitter hop taste with lasting bitter hop finish. reebtogi (6403) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - AUG 31, 2011
1 litre swingtop bottle poured a copper color with a modest white head and some lacing. Aroma is caramel malts and some mild hops. Taste is grainy malt sweetness and some light hops.

It pours a hazy copper color with a soapy white head. It has a medium amount of carbonation
The aroma is pretty boring little sweet notes but other than that not much. Even when it got warm.
The flavor is nothing special. It has a huge malt base. It is not well balanced between the malt and hops. I am getting some carmel and a metallic taste. I think if I were to put a penny in my mouth it would taste just like this. It feels really thin at some points.
It finishes with a dry and sweet and there is a little hops there. But it tends to linger around. Not a bad beer but nothing i would ever reach for again. These guys seem to do just ok stuff nothing that creates a wow experience pintbypint (3921) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - SEP 18, 2010
1L brown swingtop. Orange colour, small and creamy whitish head which fades to a ring. Caramel malt aroma. Flavour is nutty malt with a touch of chocolate and some caramel sweetness, faint fruitiness and light citrus/grassy hop presence. Aftertaste is nutty malts with some dryness. Medium body, mild carbonation. Drinkable, but not super interesting. patricks110 (2781) - Alberta, CANADA - JUN 20, 2010
Not the best amber ale out there, but pretty solid. Nice barley malts, toffee, hops and mild yeast. A nice bitter hop finish. Pretty nice beer though. Powertrip (1000) - Calgary, Alberta, CANADA - OCT 10, 2009
Lot’s of caramel in the nose, with roasted malt and some fall grass. Colour is true to its name - copper. Flavour shows walnuts, tonnes of malt, dust and some roast near the end. Palate has a slight after film, but expertly carbonated. Finish is quite a nice light roast with the caramel making another appearence. Good stuff. Huzzah for the one-litre swing top bottles favoured by Howe Sound (and by me as well)! Not much of a head with this one, what there was being a thin, ivory-coloured layer on top of a rather nice and clear amber/copper body. The aroma was quite malty, with some hop undertones; I found the flavour to be very much the same. Mouthfeel was smooth, and it finished sweet and malty.
