Wow. If I closed my eyes and took a sip I *might* have tasted a pumpkin beer, with the expected cinnamon/clove/nutmeg combo we’ve all come to love and hate. But mostly hate. However, I absolutely would have said "oh, it’s a sour." Did they mean to do this? Because each and every sip tasted like a sour, with maybe some vegetal something and some spice. Next day it was less sour and more pumpkin pie spice but not so much better. Odd experience with this beer.

UPDATED: FEB 20, 2015 1 L. swingtop. Lightly hazy orange-copper body supports a lasting thin disc of creamy foam. Nose is dark fruit bubblegum, sassafras-spiced hard candy and an occasional bit of squash. Tastes of bubblegum, toffee, earthy spice mix, toasted nut and some nice notes of vegetal pumpkin. A bit of wooden hop, roast and the spices provide a dry, mildly astringent finish. Medium body has medium carbonation and shows just a pleasant warming from the 8%. Great spice mix that provides lots of complex flavors, doesn’t have any one spice dominating the flavor and on the whole doesn’t completely overwhelm the pumpkin or the yeast. Would be really great if there was just a pinch less of the spices though.
