A high quality nut brown, right on the mark for what I want. Chocolate aroma, mild roastiness on the palate, pretty creamy mouthfeel. Looks beautiful, too. Reminds me why I love the style. maley1 (1301) - Calgary, CANADA - OCT 21, 2012
Clear dark brown pour with small beige head. Aroma of malts, caramel and banana. Taste of malts, toffee, bread, caramel and a definate nutty finish. Medium carbonation and creamy mouthfeel. Very good. thb (836) - Alberta, CANADA - OCT 13, 2012
Good standard brown ale - style that’s hard to really love, but hard to dislike. Appearance - notably dark brown. Aromas of brown sugar, hazelnut, graham crackers, chicory. Or something like that. Sweet, but not a lot, some balancing bitterness. Dead straight middle of the road. stuckinprague (43) - - SEP 15, 2012
Beer pours chocolate brown with a thick head, but the head disappears almost entirely once it settles. Aroma is sweet and syrupy, with a chocolate and a touch of licorice sweetness. Beer tastes like chocolate with a fair amount of nuttiness (mostly cashews). In addition, this beer pairs well with cashews as well. Beer palate is medium, creamy and rather flat. The palate works well with the style. Overall this beer is tasty, but a little synthetic in flavours. Could more roasted malt flavour, but it is what it is. slimspady (218) - Lethbridge, Alberta, CANADA - SEP 10, 2012
Dark brown, big white head. Slightly nutty, roasted malts also. Nice, uncomplicated beer. 080612

UPDATED: JUL 6, 2012 On tap at Caffe Barney on Main St. Not much head or nose. It purports to be a nut brown ale, but is actually much closer to a porter or stout. As such, it’s a rather pleasant one. Malts predominate. Coffee is the dominant theme. Didn’t notice any nut flavors whatsoever. Nice but not complex. Draught. Dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma is toffee, plum with hints of banana and chocolate. Taste is hazelnut, date, burnt sugar, hint of chocolate. Medium bodied, starts sweet and nutty on the palate and then finishes with a roasty bitterness and a slightly burnt aftertaste. v1rgil (172) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 13, 2012

Pours a dark tea-like brown with three fingers off-white head. Smell is more fruity than nutty, very little roast, malty sweetness. There is slightly more roast and a nutty flavor in the taste, the right amount of sweetness on the finish. Very great drinking beer. deyholla (12276) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - MAR 18, 2012
Big thanks to Lizzie! Pours a hazy light amber brown with a gray brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of chocolate and nuttiness with a backing licorice and a but of deep dark grain. Flavor begins with a bit of sweet grains and chocolate with a nutty finish.
