One liter swingtop, Mostly clear, deep copper-amber brew with a lasting disc of spongy foam. Aroma of rich toffee with a bit of earthiness and some orange zest. Flavor is toffee with a touch of orange, toasted walnut with some of the bitter pith, whole grain bread and light berry. Lightly astringent, drying finish has some cocoa powder and a hint of coffee. Medium body has smooth low carbonation and a good balance.

Drank from a pint glass, poured from a 1 Litre bottle, purchased in Warwick, NY. Nice dark, deep copper color, with plenty of off white/light tan head. Strong floral aromas from the Cascades. A bit strong and bitter, but still with a nice complexity too it. Well done!

annunz123 (967) - Taunton, Massachusetts, USA - JUL 18, 2014
Nice aroma with caramel, nuts, wood, and some pine hops. Malty flavor caramel, nuts, and some dark fruit. Pine bitterness and a little alcohol in the finish. I liked this a lot better than the other ratings I saw, and will try more from this brewery.

Bottle. Bronze beer with a dark cream head. Caramel and grapefruit aroma. Grapefruit and pine flavor with caramel. Medium bodied. Grapefruit and caramel linger with pine.

Virtually no aroma, maybe dried leaves. Clear rust, thin head. Earthy, very subtle minty mulberry note. Dried leaves in the end. Not exciting.

Beerdedone (3452) - Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 29, 2014

BeerGolem (829) - Quebec, CANADA - MAY 27, 2014
Sample on tap at Craft Beer Market (Vancouver). This beer has the colour of cognac. Slightly hazy. Beige head and some lacing. Aroma: mainly Cascade hop and malt. Strong bitterness. Resionous with some fruits. Lasting aftertaste. Creamy texture. Alcohol is well hidden. Nice beer. Surprised by its low rating.

Suttree (6504) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - APR 28, 2014
Ruddy reddish brown, nice rocky beige head. Lots of malty notes in the aroma - caramel and toffee, some molasses. Very smooth. Rich and sweet flavors, like caramel and toffee. Not normally my thing, but I liked this quite a bit.

jtclockwork (17264) - , New Jersey, USA - MAR 2, 2014
Bottle. Pours reddish amber with white head. Nose and taste of dank resin, tree bark, birch sap, dirty caramel, dirty earth and pine wood. Medium body. Dry resinous finish.

Drake (14078) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - FEB 13, 2014
Fliptop 32 ounce bottle from Whole Foods, Charlottesville. Pours a hazy red with a bit of brown. Medium sized tan head. Fair head retention. Aroma of toffee malt, apple, dark fruits, toast, earthy hops. The taste is toffee malts, herbal, earthy hops and a bit of stone fruit. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, slight lingering bitterness. Solid.
