Bottle - 1L crowned swing-top. Amber pour with a short tan head. Aroma is hoppy and floral but also rather grainy and bready with caramel notes. Taste is big caramel, toasted grains, sweet malt, graham crackers, floral hops, citrus notes and earthy hops. Touch of grass as well. Body is medium and slightly chewy with a soft, creamy carbonation. Mild lingering hop bitterness and light resinous feel as well. Ends with more grains, malt notes, toasted bread, caramel, floral hops, citrus notes, and earthy notes.

UPDATED: JUL 11, 2011 Rien à dire de négatif. Plus amer que malté. Assez rond en bouche. Bon...J’ai rien à dire de plus, c’est hoppy!

In short: A juicy fruity IPA. Ordinary.
How: Big ass bottle shared by Camping Brewdown 2012.
The look: Cloudy dark amber body topped by a small beige head with good retention.
In long: Nose is soft fruity and floral hops, soft enough to let the malt sweetness pierce through the aroma. Smell of apricots, candied apples, other fruits, flower leafs. Taste is sweet mangos, mcintosh apples, citrusy hops, resinous notes. Not much caramel/honey sweetness, here the sweetness is really sweet fruits, borderline canned fruits. Mild-medium bitterness intensity. Strong juicy sensation. Not refreshing. Nothing bad per say, just not my type of IPA. Apparently the Howe Sound brewer wanted to call this beer “Colorful Rainbow Over Celine Dion” but the marketing guy said the name wasn’t gay enough.

Pours amber into an English pint. Gloppy seafoam head with good retention recedes leaving spider lacing. Stale cooked veggie aromas. Soft with sweet caramel and citrus upfront turning to bitter grapefruit in the lasting finish.

bottle. Amber with one finger head. Medium malt body with a bit of sweetness and slight booze. Substantial hops. Well balanced, hoppy but not a hop bomb.

1 L. swing-top. Mostly clear copper with a small layer of creamy bubbles. Nose is orange toffee, earthy tea leaf and whiffs of dry cocoa and wood. Tastes of sourish tangerine, toasted malt, cocoa, evergreen resin, and earthy dried leaf and wood. Medium body has a soft smooth carbonation and a big dry finish. An interesting and tasty IPA that pays a nice homage to the traditional English style while incorporating some new era hops as well.

(Draught) Sampled at the Great Canadian Beer Festival 2008 in Victoria, September 7. Pours a sweet berry with pine hops base. Good malt base. Very enjoyable. 8/3/8/3/15

Mediocre IPA. One of the mildest double IPAs I’ve had. Musty aroma, and slick mouthfeel.

presario (4925) - Stampede City, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 4, 2009
Tiggmtl brought this to Grey Cup. Good head on copper/dark amber. Soft scent. ESB - Brittish. Dry woody hop character with a dry hop finish.

tmoreau (4637) - Lombard, Illinois, USA - AUG 15, 2015
Shared swing topped liter bottle poured to snifters, showing a cloudy, orangey amber color, with a fair layer of off white head foam, and spotty lacing. The aroma was pit & dried fruit, with a bit of follow up citrus, and a touch of caramel sweetness. Ditto on the taste, with a pronounced and lingering, citrus and rind-like hop bitterness. Medium bodied, with good carbonation, and some noticeable alcohol. Not overwhelming, but a decent DIPA.
