375ml bottle. (2014 release) Pours a cloudy, dark reddish brown with a small, short lived, beige head that fully dissipates. Sweet aroma of caramel malt, bread, overripe fruit and wood. Sweet flavour of caramel malt, roasted malt, overripe fruit, bread, wood and a hint of chocolate malt with a dry, bitter, warming alcohol finish. Full body with a smooth, oily texture and soft carbonation. Very nice, a pleasant surprise.

Bottle to taster. Looks solid; a cloudy caramelish brown with lighter beige head that slowly but steadily dissipates into lacing. Smells malty, boozy, and lightly toasty with a prominent bittersweet backbone. Tastes like it smells with a medium full-bodied mouthfeel. Decent, but underwhelming.

2014 release. Pours cloudy mahogany with a tan head. Nose is caramel, dark dried fruit, brown sugar, and roasted malts. Flavour is fig, raisin, caramel, bread, and roasted malt. Maybe a bit too much like a fruitcake but perfect for sipping in front on the Christmas tree.

Pleasant aroma of dark fruits and sweet caramelized malt. Pours a hazy deep amber. Cloudy and rustic. Deep flavors of raisins, dates, and a nutty finish. Carbonation a bit lovely but plays well with the finish. 2013 vintage.
