Cask at The Cock Tavern. Pours a dark reddy brown with a thin bubbly off white head. Aroma is sweet licorice (black jacks) and treacle. Medium body. Taste is big on licorice, candy sweet at first before going into a coffee bitterness. Nice enough.

Pours black color with a medium sized thick head. Surprisingly hoppy on the nose, some roasted malts, cocoa and caramel. Flavor is a bit fruity, some roasted malts and caramel also, resiny hops and cocoa also. Medium carbonation, bitter fruity palate with a roasty finish. Feels a bit light a lighter black ipa. Nice.
Draft at The Cock Tavern in Hackney, London on 13 July 2013.
Poured a dark ruby/ brown with a thin tan head. Aroma of dark chocolate, brown sugar and dark roasted coffee. Some initial burnt sugar sweetness is balanced very nicely by bitter dark malts and coffee and some good hop presence. Scopey (16273) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 27, 2013
Cask at Cock Tavern. It pours dark brown with a small beige head. The nose is roasted malt, liquorice, earth, rocky road, light spice and caramel. The taste is roasted malt, coffee, toast, earth, burnt caramel, wood, earth and salted liquorice with a dry, roasty finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Decent enough porter. harrisoni (19547) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - JUL 27, 2013
Bottle at The Bottle Shop Canterbury. Black beer. It?s not like Ken said as an old man porter its definitely new wave with plenty of hops on the finish. Meaty malty aroma. Some coffee and chocolate. Too hoppy for a true porter in my mind. More a black ipa than a porter. Bit thin in body and too hoppy clearly a black ipa. mR_fr0g (14024) - Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - JUL 13, 2013
Keg at the cocky tavern. Dark brown coffee colour, light tan persistent head. Happy coffee, aroma. Coffee roast, strong hop, really nice.
