Cask at the Cock Tavern E8. Reddish brown in colour. I’m a big fan of these hoppy red ales, and Howling Hops have smashed it with their versions. Luscious juicy fruit from the hops, berries with a hint of sweetness, cream, a bit of snap, long bitter finish. Splendid.

Bottle 330 ml from Howling Hops tank room in Hackney Wick. Fruity aromas with notes of caramel. Pours hazy brown body with small eggwhite head. Taste is smooth bitter with fruity notes and caramel. Very pleasant taste that reminds me a lot of Fuller’s ESB. Great choice for a cold autumn day.

Flaske 330ml delt med Rune på Sourced Market, London 26 Apr 17. Mørkebrun. Høyt kremaktig skum. Tett lacing. Lett fruktaroma. Myk munnfølelse. Smaken fersken. Bra - men før søt. Uklar siste kvelling.

330ml bottle. A refreshing beer with fruity notes, sweet flavour with a slight bitter after taste.

Rune (13493) - Tromsø, NORWAY - MAY 6, 2017
330ml bottle shared with Finn at Soured Market, St Pancras. Beige head, lacing rings, clear copper coloured body. Delicate fruity caramel malts on the nose. Flavoured with toffee, caramel and red orange, a bit jam-like. Gentle dry bittersweet end. Medium bodied. Nice (London 26.04.2017).

Cask Third of a Pint at Pig’s Ear Beer Festival, London, Dec 2015 - Ruby Amber in colour. Hoppy; well hopped. Fruity; orange and grapefruit citrus. Malty; toasty malts. Bittersweet hoppy fruity beer. Tasty. Decent. (2015-12-01)

Pours as the name suggests a ruby red colour with a thick off white head. The smell of the hops is instantley apparant. The taste is hop forward with a mild fruity citrus background. The body, for the style, is thick and rich, almost velvety with a high carbonation. Overall, this is excellent, it tastes great and looks lush when poured into a glass.

Cask at the Cock. Chocolate, red fruit and resin on the nose, lightly spicy with lots of warming fruit and alcohol, perhaps a tad over-sweet in the finish.

Bottled 330ml (AbM)
Amber color, huge off-white head, lace. Semi-gushing even. Aroma is dryish with crystal malty berryish aroma. Light to medium-bodied. Caramel, a bit berryish. Some grapefruity citrus hops lurking in the background. Too much crystal malts for my liking, some hops but could use a bit more. Bottle maybe also a bit overcarbonated although not infected or anything like that.

blackisle (2808) - Amsterdam IJburg, NETHERLANDS - AUG 8, 2016
Bottle 33cl. Poured into a shaker. Hazy deep amber, tall frothy off-white beige head, good retention, heavy lacing; citrus aroma, pale malts, grapefruit, lemon peel, grass; taste medium sweet and bitter, malty, light caramel, citrus; dry bittersweet finish, spicy notes; medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation; solid pleasant bitter.
