Pours gold with a white head. Clean pale malts, low sweetness, light floral notes, and a clean finish. Very well balanced.

Bottled (from meinbiershop, found in an old box). Amber colour, small slightly off-white head with a creamy slightly off-white head. Aroma is earth cellar, some slight herbal and floral notes along with some sweet malts. Flavour is sweet and bready malts along with some floral and herbal notes. Ends with a nice floral hoppyness along with some sweet malty notes. Atleast this bottle has kept well (BBE was 6 months before this rating was made).

Bottle @ Chris’ house in Fürth. A bit hazy, dark golden appearance with an off white head. Cracker, bready yeasty, a bit thick aroma. Slightly orange citrusy fruity, chewy, sort of bland pale malty flavor.

Jonb5 (531) - Greater London, ENGLAND - JUN 26, 2012
Half litre bottle, golden colour, clear, lots of bubbles, small to medium thick head. Sweet malty aroma, notes of cherry. Tasted some sweet but not roasted malts, long sour dough finish, not complex. Light to medium body, moderate carbonation, normal mouthfull. Overall a decent refreshing beer typical of what you would expect from a Kellerbier in the Bamberg area.

Test vom 28.2.2009, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 12,11,12,11,11,11 - 11,25

Sorry for the german rating, but this is a lousy rating from my "newbie" time (2007-2009), and it’s not worth of being translated. I just added it for the statistics, and to complete my backlog!

Bottle. Nose has pale malt and (am I deceived? [yes, well, it’s there from the bottle but not the glass]) a touch of smoke, with a nice slender touch of hay. Dark golden-copper pour with a sudsy beige head. Lightish-medium body is lightly sweet and slightly less bitter, has a nice measure of acidity with light grass and more toasted grains with a mild multi-fruchtsaft-like fruitiness on the precipice. Very soft body with a touch of chalk under the citrus. Good character, really enjoyed!

(Rating #3820)
