2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle from b3shine. Poured clear copper color with a minimal fizzy off-white head that was mostly diminished with little lacing. Moderate toasted sweet malt aroma. Light to medium body with with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Light to medium sweet flavor with a light to medium sweet finish of short to moderate duration. My expectations where not met.
From old tasting notes. Labeled as "Ludwig Hudepohl Special Octoberfest Beer". Amber, orange color. Malty nose is subtle. Slightly roasted malt flavor. Crisp dry finish. rondphoto (4494) - Lakeside Park, Kentucky, USA - DEC 19, 2014
bottle @ Jungle Jim’s / Eastgate OH --- Clear amber brown color, beige head cover, dots and smears of lace. Taste is caramel malt with mild floral hops in the finish. It grows some in the palate, but, otherwise, that’s about it. On the good side, it is easy-drinking, enjoyable, and good for pitcher-sharing. Whaddya know? A good Hudey. wxman (1848) - O’Fallon, Illinois, USA - SEP 25, 2013
Pours a red/amber with a thin light tan head. Decent malt aroma. Nice sweet caramel malt taste; biscuit with mild hop bitterness. Good! phaleslu (10670) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - SEP 20, 2013
Draft at the Moerlein Lager House tent for Oktoberfest Zinzinnati. Pours a semi-cloudy chestnut amber with a small off-white head. Aroma of caramel, nuts, grass, and toast. Flavor of nuts, toast, caramel, brown sugar, and dried leaves. Light-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a toasty mouthfeel. Not bad. Definitely Americanized in comparison to the Paulaners I just had. Patrickctenchi (6731) - Cox’s Knob, columbus, Indiana, USA - DEC 31, 2012
Almost clear, orange-red-amber with a thin tan head.
Scent is caramel malt, bread, toast.
Taste is malt, spiced caramel, bread.
Lightly spiced, lightly roasted.
This brewery delivers some pretty decent stuff....especially at this price level.

From a twist off bottle, been sitting in my garage for about a month. Yes, typical lighter octoberfest beer, fairly enjoyable. Not too bad overall. Does have some of that annoying octofest bitterness in there but it never goes over the top. Chudwick (3367) - Taylor Mill, Kentucky, USA - DEC 1, 2012
12oz bottle - pours light brown with thin tan head and decent lacing. Nose is toasty. Flavor adds a nutty maltiness and light roast. Balanced between sweet and bitter but not pronounced. Lacks the cheesiness of Hudepohl. Decent. alexsdad06 (10812) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - NOV 14, 2012
12 oz. bottle shared by b3shine. Pours a clear amber color with a medium sized, but rapidly disappearing white head. The aroma is toasted malts, mildly sweet, caramel, with a tiny splash of chemicals. The flavor is pretty standard for an oktoberfest; toasted malts, caramel, light grainy with mild bitterness. This was not very exciting, although I didn’t expect much. DrSilverworm (9672) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - NOV 9, 2012
Sample from a 12oz bottle. Clear amber color, little off-white head, some dots of lace. Toasty malt nose. Lighter carbonation. Good sweet taste. Lighter body. Solid oktoberfest.
