UPDATED: JUL 14, 2016 Bottle 50cl. from Total gas station @ Pottenstein. Poured into a weizen glass. Hazy to cloudy straw golden, tall frothy white head, receding slowly, fair lacing; light aroma, bit sourish, wheat, light banana, yeast; light sweet and sour taste, fruity, watery, yeasty; mainly sweet aftertaste with light sourish and bitter notes; light body, watery texture, soft carbonation; a very mild weizen, quite drinkable.

Fläschla: Pale golden, hazy, small persistent white head; mild to moderate sourish-fruity nose of bananas, wheat and yeast; mild to moderate sourish-sweetish flavour, light bodied and a bit tartbarnyard, lingering sourish-bananey finish with yeast and a tinge of cloves. Drinkable, but not a glorous Weizen

50cl bottle. Pours hazy pale golden colour with a mid-sized white head. Aroma of sweet banana and yeast. Taste of sweet banana and yeast, boring!

(Bue sur place): Banane, citron et meringue forme littéralement une tarte liquide aux accents minéraux et floraux. Quelque chose de maladroit à propos de cette bière m’empêche de l’apprécier davantage.

My Bottom Line:
Flowers and banana esters can’t exactly shake off underlying phenols and their rubbery edge, yet the personality of it all remains engaging and drinkable.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A creamy head of foam covers the cloudy beige.
-Mineral angles appear here and there.
-The cushiony effervescence matches the sweetish cereals.
-Like their three brews tried that day, this one was decent but a tad clunky.

On tap at the brewpub.

Erzengel (8769) - Wuppertal, GERMANY - DEC 30, 2013

Tap at the brewpub. Lightly lemony nose with spicy yeast notes, medium body, yeasty and fruity, good but typical Weizen.

Pours hazy golden with a high frothy head. Aroma banana, wheat. Slight sweet taste. Medium bodied.

Maria (10212) - Thisted, DENMARK - FEB 15, 2012
It’s an unclear golden weissbier with a huge, creamy head, and the aroma has notes of banana, light banana peel, mild yeast and wheat – it’s quite aromatic. The flavour is bursting with banana notes, also a little peel, yeast and wheat, and the finish is slightly dry. It’s pure banana-juice – I’m in love!!!

MiP (15667) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - JUL 17, 2011
Draught at the brewpub. Weak phenolic aroma like so many other German weizens. Cloudy dark orange colour. Good stable white head. The flavour is not phenolic, though. Has a bit of hoppiness to balance a slight sweetness. A well-balanced wheat beer.
