Hunter Kölsch is a refreshing golden ale originating in style from the Cathedral city of Cologne with a biscuity-honey taste and subtle fruit sweetness, making it the ideal beer in summer. It is the perfect aperitif, often served as an accompaniment to canapés. The pleasant passionfruit and pineapple flavours are well matched with light snacks such as salt n pepper squid, chicken skewers and brushetta. Alcohol content of 4.5% Alc/Vol.

I really really enjoyed this beer. It is a great beer for a sunny afternoon drink. Delicious like all of hunter brewery’s beers.

Tasted 9/Oct/2016. Draught at Potters Hotel, Nulkaba. Poured a crystal clear golden colour with a 5mm white frothy head that retained very well and laced OK. Carbonation virtually flat with the rare fine bubble. Aroma poor, maybe a hint of malt. Taste of slightly sweet fruits, subtle spices and a hint of malt. Light body. Crisp and smooth with a short slightly sweet finish.

Clear golden, white lace Fine citric notes, light hayish malt, medium light, sparkly body. Subtle fruity notes, perfect drinkability, pretty spot on imo

I live in the Hunter and this certainly my favourite beer. One rater noted the aroma as being poor, its probably only negative. Its a gentle refreshing taste. I try not to compare with beers from other countries. I think it is a pale, lightly bitter, , light body, lively beer.

Is not a real Kölsch like you get it in Cologne, more malty. Was served too cold in the brewery, aftertaste is just ok. Overall drinkable

Draught at Brewery...and various locations around Newcastle/Hunter Pale straw body, holds a fluffy white head. Mild aroma; pale malts, raw cereal, light fruits & floral notes. Medium/light body, fairly full carbonation, delicate really. Not a lot to it, but pleasant enough; husky cereally pale malts, floral honey character, faint pear/apple esters. Finishes with mild bitterness, lingering dryness & subtle spiciness. Not a huge fan of the style, but this is one of the better ones.

Plain slightly fruity aroma. Cloudy golden colour with ok head. Very mild flavours, not much to report. Light body with low to medium carbonation.

I had this on tap at the brewery. Pours quite a pale yellow with a white head. Aroma and taste have a slight citrus taste.

Draught as part of a tasting paddle at Harts Pub, Sydney, on July 16, 2013.
Clear straw yellow to pale golden color, white head. Sweet, sugary, grainy, esters taste, some yeast. Medium to smooth mouthfeel, very low bitterness. Malty aftertaste. Malty, bread scent.
