As far as Porters go, I’ve had this one many times, in many iterations. The good news is that this is the Porter for the base of many Hunter’s Brewing beers to come. The better news is that this porter is one of the best porters that I’ve ever had.
Is there roasted or black malt in this? Could be. I’m not getting any astringency, but the chocolate in this one is just awesome. And I like a Porter.
Sample. Low fluffy light brown lasting head. Pitch black body. Sweet coffee liquorice aroma and flavor. Somewhat flat. Little hops bitterness, low carbonation and a short finish. queenholly (3623) - South Whitley, Indiana, USA - DEC 11, 2015
Draft. Smoky roasty chocolate and meaty aroma. Black brown with a moderate tan head. Smoky peaty malt, roast, chocolate, and slightly acidic flavor. Medium body, lively carbonation. Patrickctenchi (6750) - Cox’s Knob, columbus, Indiana, USA - OCT 11, 2015

Dark brown with a dark tan head.
Roasty chocolate, coffee aroma.
Taste is strong, creamy chocolate malt with a nice ashy bittering.
Really robust, on all points.
A great Porter.
Tap at the taproom. Very dark dense looking pour with a reddish brown head. Mild roast, ash, bittersweet chocolate. Smooth. Yum. shrubber85 (11666) - Greenville, Indiana, USA - JUN 9, 2014
