Courtesy of bierkoning, ty Edo! Very dark brown color, small expresso head. Sweet dark fruits dominate the aroma (plums, dates), also some caramel malts. Crisp carbonation. Licorice, plums, dark malts, some hops and then alcohol in the finish. Nice lingering licorice flavor in the aftertaste. Very good tasty doppelbock ... it is a not Celebrator but very wellmade..
Bottled (thanks tbone_). Deep brownish golden colour with small brownish beige head. Aroma is plum, alcohol, caramel malts and quite much spices. Flavour is quite much spicy plumpudding, spices, some slight bittering hops and also some yeasty notes. Really wellbalanced and good brew. altonbrownd (5897) - Chevy Chase, Maryland, USA - OCT 27, 2007
On tap at 30e PINT bokbierfestival. Dark brown. A bit spicier and tangier. Quite nice. Toasty and wheat flavoured. My style. One of the best of the night. Papsoe (25054) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - SEP 6, 2007
(Bottle 30 cl) Courtesy of MiP. Clear, warm orangey brown with an off-white head. Lightly vinous aroma of roasted malts. Quite full-bodied completely dominated by clean and sweetish roasted malts perfectly balanced by some bittering hops. A nice and harmonious brew. 240807 HermanW (1069) - Coevorden, NETHERLANDS - MAY 27, 2007
I had this "criminal dilicious" beer in end spring. It was a good beer but a bit too bitter. MoritzF (10199) - Ottobrunn, GERMANY - JAN 31, 2006
(bottle) Hazy reddish-brown hue with yeast floaties and a small foamy beige head. Sweet nose with roasted malts and yeasts. Moderately sweet flavour and taste, medium body, lively carbonated mouthfeel. Initially roast-malty taste with caramel. Almost dry finish with a sharp roast-malty bitterness. Decent but not very convincing brew.
