It is brewed with both juniper twigs and a large dose of Finnish attitude. It is available on tap an in bottles in bars and restaurants across Finland. 4oz on tap at Ei8ht Ball. Kind of a spicy, toasty, dark fruity aroma. Some winter type spices. Some caramel malt, light nutty notes. Mostly clear slight dark red orange kind of brown color. Thin ring of khaki head. Some bits of lace. Medium body. Kind of slick texture. Smooth, lighter carbonation. Nice full mouthfeel to it. Moderate sweet taste, light bitter, light zest, bit of spice. Pretty solid tasty complex balanced spice ale. Nice darker brown ale flavors to it. Hint of coffee in the finish (in the finnish? heh).

500 ml bottle. Dark brownish amber with off white head. Aroma of juniper, malt, leather and lots of wood. Taste is similar, leather, sweet malt, juniper. Style reminds me of old ale.

Xavalias (284) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - JUL 18, 2014
Bottle from Magasin, DK. Pours dark cloudy brown with an uneven beige head that quickly disappears. Aroma is caramel, chocolate, raisin, ripe fruits. Very sweet, low bitterness, with a long-lasting malty finish of strawberry syrup. After a minute or so all the bitterness is gone and all that remains is strawberry syrup. Interesting.

50 cl, flaske, 7,3 % ABV, købt i Frederiks Villa i Faxe Ladeplads, 5. juli 2014. Mahogni-farvet finsk krydret Ale med orange nuancer i modlys. Lille offwhite skumkrone på max. 1 cm. Ufiltreret. Aroma af staldgulv, tobak, gær, brændt malt, læder, noget indelukket-aroma, men alligevel helt særligt. God, fyldig og krydret smag. Meget velafbalanceret. Starter lettere sødt og bittert og senere i billedet kommer krydderierne. God humlebitter eftersmag. Frisk mundfølelse - medium niveau af kuldioxid. Speciel og god!

Bottle. Very dark amber body, clear ruby against the light. Aroma has dark fruits, almost dried fruits, such as raisins. Toffee, candi sugar syrup, but well balanced. Light touch of alcohol. Weak woody in the background. Taste has medium caramel sweetness, medium earthy bitterness, little bit harsh in the after taste. Body is full to medium, medium carbonation, light oily texture.
