light juniper aroma, brown, off white foam, light sweetness, lightly bitter, light body, oily feel, light dry juniper finish. tfredvik (1941) - Oslo, NORWAY - JAN 3, 2014
Now and then I like to test my tasting capabilities, so I had this without knowing what kind of beer it is, a fun experiment! The body is very dark brown with a long-lived, light brown head leaving a good deal of lacing. The strong aroma initially feels mainly malty, with roasted notes and mild coffee, so at first I thought this is a porter, maybe a stout. After a short while more hops come creeping in, with fruits and berries, and soon it feels more like a malty BIPA. Then an exciting turn: I get lots of pine needles and juniper, and these notes just keep increasing. The flavours are strong with dominant hoppy notes and lots and lots of resin, pine needles and spicy juniper. It didn’t come as a surprise when I learned that the Arctic Circle is brewed with juniper twigs! The roasted malty notes and coffee are in the back. The taste is moderate sweet and the fairly long-lasting finish is quite heavy bitter. Medium body, oily texture with a dry finish, soft carbonation. A very interesting, complex and tasty beer. 20107589 (748) - randers, DENMARK - DEC 30, 2013

Bottle. It pours an almost clear, copper colored body under a small, light beige head. The aroma has bread and toffe dominating, both quite weak, and there’s also a light spiced touch. Licorice, bread, caramel and some herbal thing in the flavor, a nice herbal and licorice touch finishing it all. Medium to full body, semi-dry on the palate. An unusual and quite pleasant beer. 130508 mikkos (306) - FINLAND - DEC 25, 2013
Dark reddish brown with a minimal head. Aroma is strong berries with rye and juniper, somewhat sweet. Taste is even more berries and juniper, something reminds me of mushrooms too. A hint of alcohol. Smooth, a bit oily mouthfeel, rather low carbonation. Finishes rather bitter. Quite special tasting beer, good.

On draft at ChurckKey during its Christmas Beer tap takeover. Pours a clear cola brown with an ecru head. Nutty, caramel nose. Flavors of juniper with a sweetness to it. Light bodied, light carbonation, vinous finish. Braastad (459) - FINLAND - DEC 7, 2013
Aroma has chocolate, coffee and something herby - the juniper apparently.
Flavor is much the same, more of bitter coffee. Warmth of alcohol. SperkeleForce (791) - FINLAND - DEC 6, 2013
Bottle 50 cl. Hazy dark brown with some copper color with no head but small lacing. Notes of wood, burnt, coffee, chocolate, berries, juniper, spruce, herbs, roasty, pines. Interesting tasty beer with lot of different flavors. Feels like a crossing between an Ale and a Stout or Porter. Goes down pretty easy. Good brew. KoNrRiI (1491) - Århus, DENMARK - DEC 2, 2013
0.5 bottle. Clear, dark crimson color with a small, latte-colored head. Aroma is sweet and dominated by malts but there is also some toast, liquorice, and dark fruits. Taste is quite bitter I would even describe it as heavy, has some smoky notes, malts, spices, alcohol and a whole lot of juniper. Medium to full body, oily texture, and soft carbonation. Finish is bitter and a tad astringent as well, first, brief sensation after swallowing are rather hop but then it rapidly becomes more malty with a strong, uncanny taste of juniper. Definitely a beer with a character! BillHick420 (460) - NORWAY - DEC 2, 2013
Pours raisin brown with a brownish tinted head. Thick foam, and nose of dried fruits and hints of alcohol. Aroma of the same notes, with a linger hop at the finish line. Strong alcohol presence.
