Huvila Arctic Circle Ale is a chestnut coloured ale with a malty/fruity odour. It tastes of dark fruits and caramel malts and finishes off with a nice bitter hop tail. It is brewed with both juniper twigs and a large dose of Finnish attitude. It is available on tap an in bottles in bars and restaurants across Finland. The beer has also featured among the seasonal Christmas beers at Alko, the Finnish monopoly retail distributor of beers with more than 4.7% Alc. Arctic Circle Ale is also imported into the US through Shelton Brothers.

Mørk dyp rødbrun farge. Tett fint skum. Dufter søtt med kraftig innslag av einer. Rund og fin smak med tydelig smak av einer. Behagelig ettersmak. Blir nok kjøpt igjen. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Dark brown, little head, low carbonation but nice, smooth mouth feel, somewhat rich. Dark malts, caramel and chocolate aftertaste. Definitely a nice one to drink, would probably age well. Nice malt. Slight bitterness, slight roasted malt flavor.

7.3% bottle from Drink Shop in Tallinn, just 4 euros so cheaper than in Finland! Beautiful mellow brown color, light bige head of luscious foam. Sweet malt aroma with possibly a touch of smoke. The flavor is definitely peated malts but pretty well balanced. Peat smoke, then sweet caramel malts with a mild bitter finish. Great stuff. You don’t taste the high ABV at all. Huvila/ is probably the best Finnish brewery I tried. This is a really good beer which is growing on me from good to great.

ClubGonzo (5685) - Bergen, NORWAY - AUG 7, 2013
Bottle. Pours a murky deep nut brown body with a medium creamy off-white head. Nose is raisins, toffee, nuts, nougat, wood and hints of herbs in the back. Taste is a rather strange combination of deep caramel malts, nuts, nougat, assertive juniper tones, wet leaves, grassy herbal tones and hints of burnt sugar, marzipan and raisins. Bitter resinous aftertaste, which acts as a fitting compliment to the otherwise herbal-sweet profile. Full body, medium carbonation. Pretty nice and definitely original.

Sample at DØE 2013. Dark reddish/brown colour with an off-white head. Aroma and flavour of licorice, malt, spice, caramel, hops and coffee.

Red to brown looks with decent head. Beautiful beer. Scent has rye malts and much bitter juniper berries. Full malt body, and rye actually works here. Drying after taste with not that much hops but bitter juniper. This was an positive surprise.
