Hopfiger, etwas scharf malziger Antrunk. Milde, zum Mittelteil steigende Kräuternoten, gefolgt von Kaffenuancen. Malzbetoner Nachgeschmack, rund, stimmig. 10/9/10/10/12/10

TorbenJensen (1499) - Valby, DENMARK - JUL 3, 2015
This ale is brewed with juniper and have a beautifully renewable foam. It has the characteristics of an amber ale with dark caramel malt in the main theme embossed with a slightly spicy tang of juniper. Let the sweetness of malt and a rapidly growing spicy bitterness where juniper is very evident. At the end comes a somewhat distinctive bitter end as probably not be attributed solely to the hops, but surely also juniper vessel profits. Lovely and delicate ale which can be recommended.

Bottle (500 ml). Split 2-ways.

Appearance: Cloudy reddish-brow with a medium quickly diminishing beige head and little lacing.

Aroma: Rye spiciness with dark fruits, caramel, earthy notes, brown sugar and herbal notes.

Taste: Moderate sweetness with medium to heavy spiciness, rye, dark fruits, brown sugar, caramel, herbal notes, earthy notes and medium bitterness.

Palate: Medium body. Moderate carbonation. A bit syrupy. Spicy finish. Herbal, earthy and spicy finish.

Overall: It’s not bad and it’s not too sweet but the rye and spices takes quite a lot of place so the balance isn’t so good. Nice berry touch.

Zlotta (3035) - Hagen / Bonn, GERMANY - JUN 22, 2015
0,5 l bottle from MC Kiosk in Bonn, best before 21/1/2016. Clear, deep red with a massive, foamy, stable and tan head. Pleasant, fruity-malty aroma of coffee, dark chocolate, juniper, redcurrant and raisins. Sweetish-fruity taste of redcurrant, mushrooms and juniper with hints of dark chocolate and coffee. Short, slightly bitter finish with lots of juniper. Medium body, slightly creamy texture, average carbonation. Very interesting stuff but not totally convincing. The juniper is a bit too dominant so that the beer is somewhat unbalanced.

500 ml bottle. Unclear dark brown body with a small off-white head. Aroma has caramel malt, spicy yeast, brown sugar and dry fruit. Flavor has sweet malt, caramel, juniper, yeast and nice bitterness. Fine balanced body and OK aftertaste. Slightly unusual but nice indeed.

Almaco (7) - FINLAND - APR 21, 2015 does not count
It’s like a baby bear cub - a fluffy brown mass that’s almost threatening. Chocholet and rye dominate it’s unique mämmi like taste. The head is thin but resilient giving a surprisingly smooth texture. It’s strength (7,3%) is evedent in its sweetness. Worth a try but I’d like to meet mamma bear
