500 ml bottle from LCBO, served cool in a tulip glass. RexTalionis (3775) - FINLAND - NOV 12, 2010
App.: Deep, murky mahogany with a full, light tan head.
Aroma: Quite malty with a bit of chlorophenol, berry-like fruitiness, quite sweet-smelling and malt-forward, caramel too, not getting the botanicals.
Palate: Medium+ body and fairly full carbonation.
Flav.: Very malty with plenty of berry-like fruitiness, faint roasted notes, caramel/toffee, light butterscotch, still not getting the juniper (or other botanical notes); basically dry with pretty good bitterness and a long, malty, vaguely boozy finish with light to moderate pine/resin/juniper?.
Not a bad beer. Not as expected. Not a bad thing. Not again.
Bottle 500 ml. Pours dark brown colour with a thick head. Aroma of pine and grass and even hints of some alpenbitter. Flavour is burnt coffee, this only at first, after that you could taste some kind of wood, juniper might it be, as it is said on the bottle. Leaves a nice lacing on the glass. shigadeyo (3749) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAY 29, 2010

5/06/2010: Huvila Arctic Circle Ale... Aroma: Nicely caramelized European-like maltiness; hint of spruce. Appearance: Brown color; frothy ivory crown/head. Flavor: Substantial malty base paried with notes of bark and juniper berries; floral hops; caramel; refreshing dry and clean finish. Palate: Medium to medium-full body; smooth and mellow. Overall: Interesting and unique; very good; reminds me of Sahti.
50 cl bottle (7.3% Alc./Vol.) shared by shareanevada [BA]. Thanks Ben! Rating #55 for this beer.
Bottle at Dans courtesy of Aaron, thanks man! Poured a deep, clear, brown with a red tint. Smell is big red licorice, dark fruit, sweet malt, and caramel. Taste is earthy, dark fruits, caramel, candi sugar, and a light bitterness on the finish. Very interesting and a lot going on, quite different. Mouthfeel is thin, with medium carbonation. Overall, a pretty cool beer. DYCSoccer17 (3703) - Woodland, California, USA - DEC 25, 2011
500mL bottle purchased from the Davis Beer Shoppe. The label is quite a bit different than this photo. The aroma on this is super floral. Lots of flower petals. Pretty spicy nose, too. Light caramel sweetness. Light smokiness. Scantly hazy light amber body with a smallish manilla head. Leaves ok lacing. Starts with a good deal of chewy sweet caramel maltiness. Becomes a little spicy in the middle with herbal notes. The juniper comes through a bit in the end, with a light bitterness that is warming. This is very undercarbonated and fairly sweet, which makes we wonder about the attenuation. It’s an interesting brew, that’s for sure.

Different than I expected and much different than another juniper beer I’ve had. This one reminds me of a softer easier chewy porter or stout. Poured with a fine light tan head that settles down to a thin cover and some lace. Color is a a cloudy brown with dark amber highlights. Aroma is very malty with hints of rye fruit roasty and the juniper. Flavor is the same but with lots more going on. Roast comes out more. Very well balanced. Texture is like I said, chewy and full with great carbonation. Nice finish. Session. nihtila (3669) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - MAR 16, 2015
6.12.2013. Tiheä vaaleanruskea vaahto, hieman samea, tummanruskea olut. Tuoksussa lievää paahdetta, karamellia, ruista, tuntuu myös alkoholin lämpöä. Pehmeä, hieman karamellisen makea, ruismaltainen, yrttinen, melko täyteläinen, lopussa havuista (katajaista, kuten etiketti sanoo?) katkeroa. Alkoholikin hieman lämmittää, mutta ei maistu. Melko vivahteikas. rami_pl (3659) - Warszawa, POLAND - SEP 9, 2015

0,5 l bottle from Vika Vinmonopol. Yeasty, tobacco, raisin, rock sugar and malts on the nose. Clear mahogany body with a minimal off-white head. Malty sweet, fruity, alcoholic and a papery, spicy bitterness that lasts, Full bodied and a syrupy texture. northropfrye (3643) - Steinbach, Manitoba, CANADA - AUG 11, 2012
The first Finnish craft beer I’ve tasted. Quite nice, almost a barley wine I would say. Dark iced tea appearance, very little head. Sweet malty, dried fruit aroma. Taste is sweet and malts with a bit of citrus hop bite. Kind of thin palate, but coating.
