UPDATED: DEC 8, 2013 Bottle. Pours a deep reddish brown with little beige foam around the edges. A christmas spice aroma. Lots of orange peel as well as rye malts and sweet rye bread, tones of gingerbread. Taste is filled with christmas spices as well. Sweet rye malts and bread. Surprisingly dry and hoppy finish and aftertaste with tones of juniper as well. Palate is rather light with some carbonation. Fortunately not watery.

Murky chestnut pour reveals some sticky lacing left by a 1/2 inch eggshell head. Aroma of raisin, brown sugar, and spice. Flavor is buttermilk biscuit, honey, roasted malt and only the slightest inclusion of juniper. Medium mouthfeel. Tasty.

ciocanelu (3000) - Timisoara, ROMANIA - JUN 29, 2016
Hazy, dark amber color with tan head. Aroma has sweet caramel malt, brown sugar but also an astringent note. Taste startssweet with brown sugar and dried fruit notes, gets more bitter in the middle taste with some earthy/woody flavor and finishes even more bitter with a lingering charred wood note. Medium body with medium to low carbonation. Overall it’s an interesting style of beer but not something to really seek out.

Amber body offwhite head. Aroma has caramelly malt, sweet rye, spices and nuts. Quite easy, I don’t get the juniper. Alcohol is well hidden. Good, but this doesn’t interest me much.

Bottle from Vika enjoyed at home

Pours brown with a small beige head with big bubbles. Smells of herbs, caramel, hints of roast and malts. Taste is moderate sweet, a strange mouthfeel made by some bitter herbs that tastes of green leaves and soil and bitter malts that i don’t like. This is not what i’m looking for in a beer

500ml bottle from tiong (Matias). Quite red mahogany with a generous biege/brown head that unlike some others both appears and has staying power (unlike your first time). A very bready malt, almost chewy and wet, caramel with some toffee; low carbonation, quite sweet with a moderate to mild body, lots of caramel with a slight bitterness hop on the finish. A little too much sweetness for me though.

500ml bottle, from GMCC2181. Rating #104. Hazy dark brown and very dense with a dirty white head. Real nice aroma, light, faded hops, rich sweet malts, dark fruits and berries, I could smell this one all day. Flavor is pretty sharp, light oxidation, plums and maybe a little apricot, pretty nice beer. (1885)

Bottle thanks to Mora2000. Pours a dark, hazy amber with beige head. Aroma has some subtle dark roast and faint fruit notes. Flavor is the same. Mouthfeel is medium body with medium-high carbonation. Overall, not bad.
