Bottled (thanks to Markku for this one!). Hazy deep brown colour, mediumsized beige creamy head. Nice lace. Aroma is lots of plum, raisins and some wooden notes. Mild juniperlie notes as well. Flavour is plum, spices, alcohol, sweet malts as well as some wood, licorice and toffee. Interesting and rather different from the otherwise not-too-experimental Huvila. As it warms up it gets quite ashy notes in the flavour as well. zach8270 (4021) - Henrietta, New York, USA - JUN 30, 2009
(bottle - 500 ml) Ruby red color with a fizzy off-white head. Aroma is loaded with hints of pine, juniper, malts, and caramel. Flavor is much the same. A good amount of pine and sweet malts at the beginning with a malty and light chocolate middle coming quick behind it. Fruity and piney at the finish with a light sweetness that lingers. Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of oh6gdx. Clear orangey brown with a rough beige head. Sweet aroma of burned caramel, nuts and alcohol. Quite full-bodied, burned caramel, nuts and brown sugar. Fairly hoppy finish. Very solid English Strong Ale. 240709 SaintMatty (7526) - Uppsala, SWEDEN - NOV 18, 2009
Draught (Villi Wäinö, Helsinki) - Brown with a slight haze and some red tinges. Fruity aroma with juniper, raisins, marzipan and malt. Fruity and slightly hoppy taste with juniper, strawberries, malt and pepper. BOLTZ7555 (3127) - Phoenix, Arizona, USA - NOV 30, 2009
Murky chestnut pour reveals some sticky lacing left by a 1/2 inch eggshell head. Aroma of raisin, brown sugar, and spice. Flavor is buttermilk biscuit, honey, roasted malt and only the slightest inclusion of juniper. Medium mouthfeel. Tasty.

500ml Bottle: Aroma of malt, slight fruit, slight dark ripe fruit, light plum, slight raisin, slight bread, light burnt caramel, and a hint of wood. Poured brown/orange in color with a small to medium-sized, tan head that diminished but lasted throughout. Cloudy. Sparkling. Flavor is lightly sweet and lightly bitter. Tastes of malt, light juniper, light wood, bitter hops, burnt caramel, slight resin, and a hint of dark ripe fruit. Full body. Thick, slightly dry texture. Average carbonation. Malt, wood, and bitter hop finish is slightly dry. MissouriBrent (122) - Missouri, USA - JUN 3, 2010
Before I open this bottle, first I’d like to say I love Sahti. This bottle does not claim to be Sahti, but it is brewed in Finalnd using typical Sahti ingredients, with the probable exception of the yeast. I’m trying not to expect a Sahti when I open this, but I’m not going to be able to completely separate my evaluation from comparisons to Sahti.
Rich malt aroma. Some caramel aromas mixed with plums. Not smelling any juniper. Fairly clear red/brown color. Spicy malt flavor. Definitely tasting the dark rye. The juniper is subdued during the sip, but as time goes by the other flavors fade away and the juniper starts to present itself as a lingering flavor that was not tasted during the sip. Nice body, easy drinking. This is not a Sahti. Very little in common flavor-wise so I won’t compare. On its own it is a nice easy drinking beer with a refreshing floral aftertaste. lusikka (7833) - Tampere, FINLAND - OCT 6, 2010
500 ml bottle labeled as Malmgård Arctic Circle Ale. BBE 1.9.2010.MikeKeller (956) - Kemi, FINLAND - NOV 12, 2010
Pours a reddish brown colour with a creamy, beige, lacy head. Aroma of dark fruits, juniper and hops. Flavour of aromatic hops with some bite, mild caramel malts and some barnyard notes. Medium bodied, slick mouthfeel. Dry bitter finish. Kudos for the cool label on the bottle.
Bottle from Alko. Dark brown beer with beige head. Aromatic, hoppy and spicy aroma. Bitter taste has roasted malts, chocolate, salty licorice and some features which reminds me of Jägermeister. Not for beginners this one. dtborelli (322) - Sacramento, California, USA - NOV 21, 2010
Arctic Circle Ale
Pours medium to dark brown with a thinner tannish head and low retention. Seems oily. Aroma is of black tea with spices and juniper. Some booze and a hint of anise. Flavor is smooth and oily with slight bitter hops, black tea and maybe some rye. Pretty good and would purchase again
