50cl bottle. Had this several years in a row. Presented description is accurate for this one. One of the most sophisticated brews from Finland. smcolw (617) - Boston, Massachusetts, USA - JUL 15, 2015
Nearly no head, but it does leave some streaky, but limited, lace. The beer is a solid brown color where light passes through easily. Very cloudy, looks muddy.
Plentiful sweet caramel. Smells like a rich duppelbock or a barley wine. No notable juniper berry aroma.
Drier than the smell lets on, but still very sweet. There’s some nice balancing toastiness to the swallow. The aftertaste is surprisingly astringent like Gin with a mild kick of alcohol kicked in. Wonderfully different and remarkably drinkable. Full bodied with a low level of carbonation. atrox (615) - Kraków, POLAND - JAN 29, 2016
Dark ruby color, nice beige head. Malty aroma, bread, caramel, pine, some dried fruits, pine and gentle juniper. Very herbal taste, high herbal bitterness, not so sweet as aroma, some caramel and bread. Good, low carbonation. mirjukka (752) - LOHJA, FINLAND - MAR 14, 2009

Pint plus bottle pours red black with a very lacing head, lace sheets. The aroma is sweetness, wood, juniper, and some floral notes. The flavor hits with the juniper and malt sweetness right up front, some peat, some yeast. One of the better juniper flavored ales I’ve tried. Serious palate that seems to carry everything rather well. Overall, I like it pretty well. carruthm (1401) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JUL 12, 2009
Big time juniper aroma tempered with some other floral hop notes, it comes on like a well balanced gin. It pours a dark clear brown with a thin fizzy coating of a head. Settling into the glass, some more malty and caramel sugar aromas come out, hinting at a well balanced sweetness tempered hopefully by the bitter juniper. It comes close to that, coming into with a more toffee like maltiness with the bitterness not harsh but present like cold coffee. JK (6161) - St. Louis Park, Minnesota, USA - DEC 15, 2009
Brown color and well carbonated. Aroma has malt, light spices, and alcohol. There is an herbal quality with spices, but I can’t identify either. Fairly heavy palate and quite smooth. Some alcohol on the palate; it tastes like there is more alcohol than is actually there. I was thinking of a very high quality old ale while drinking this. Not as intense or full of unusual flavors as I hoped, but a very fine beer nonetheless. DeputyAndy (636) - Ambler, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 12, 2010
