Note: Previously known as Huvila Oak Porter

Turboninja (802) - Tampere, FINLAND - APR 20, 2013
Aroma is well balanced with the taste: lightly roasted malts with a considerable amount of other flavors like licorice, coffee and vanilla. Appearance dark brown with light brown, middle height head. Taste very well balanced and organic with wide taste spectrum. Flavors as mentioned above. Especially roasted flavors are not too dominant: a big plus from that. Otherwise very textbook-like porter with no own nuances/specialties. Palate could be a bit thicker. Adequate carbonation.

Miksu (5053) - Jyväskylä, FINLAND - APR 19, 2013
0.5 l bottle from Alko. Dark brown color. Aromas and flavors of toffee, toasted bread and chocolate with restrained oak and vanilla. Rounded palate with some woodiness in the palate. Oakiness is restrained, which is nice. Tastes quite mellow and rounded, I would like to have more sharpness, a bit more roasted malts and bitterness.

Unde (1116) - Helsinki, FINLAND - APR 9, 2013
Totally black beer, with big bubbly head but most of it disappears. Scent has roasted malts, whisky-like feel and some coffee. Quite full body but surprising carbonation for a porter. This big roasted feel sneaks after the main flavors, to strike after some time. After a while your mouth feels like you’ve just smoked a cigarette, interesting. Aftertaste is smoky. I think something is missing here, but at the end very satisfying beer from smaller brewery in Finland.

MikeKeller (956) - Kemi, FINLAND - APR 6, 2013
Bottle from Alko, Keminmaa. Oak Porter is part of the series of Finnish craft beers spring 2013. Opaque black beer with small off-white head. Wooden aroma has coffee and vanilla. Taste has oak wood, roasted malts, bourbon and some licorice. Palate is a bit on the thin side. Enjoyable.

gnoff (10713) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - APR 6, 2013
Bottle 50 cl thanks to Ingo! Sampled on April 5, 2013.
Black color, tan ehad. Roasted, malty, sweet scent. Sweet, malty, grainy taste. Medium mouthfeel, medium bitterness.

Psytron (2426) - Turku, FINLAND - MAR 20, 2013
Smell of smoke and whisky, some chocolate also. Very dark brown colour, tiny light brown head. A myriad of aromas: chocolate, coffee, licorice, whisky, smoke, alcohol, ashes, roasted malt. Oily texture, very flat carbon, almost nonexistent. Very sweet, somewhat bitter. Definitely one of the finest domestics so far.

Archibaldo de la Cruz (1120) - FINLAND - MAR 18, 2013
Bottle. Black color with a medium sized beige head. Roasted malt, wood, dark chocolate and some vanilla. Flavor is slightly sweet, roasted malt, dark chocolate and oak with some bitterness and alcohol. Medium body, slightly roasted and bitter finish.

Gurthnar (6109) - Bratislava, SLOVAK REPUBLIC - MAR 13, 2013
Bottle shared by Cuso, thanks! Aroma fruity, coffee, roasted, strong. Colour very dark brown. Taste is very balanced, full body, chewy mouthfeel. Roasted and coffee, light fruity, berries. Finish long, roasty coffee, very drinkable. Alcohol not exactly hidden, but never mind. Excellent.

alkoholocaust (37) - HELSINKI, FINLAND - MAR 10, 2013
