Bottled. A dark brown beer with a thin brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with a pretty strong roasted note. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel and roasted malt as well as a light coffee note, leading to a dry bitter and roasted finish. oh6gdx (26485) - Vasa, FINLAND - JUL 30, 2005

Transparently black with off white head. Citrusy hoppy nose. Very chocolatey with loads of coffee. Dry with clean malt profile and a bitter licorice finish. A truly excellent classic porter!
(Bottle 50 cl) Courtesy of Bierkönig. Pours a clear, dark brown - almost black - with a reddish hue and a dense, creamy, beige head that leaves some lacing. Lovely aroma of licorice and coffee - and I even detect a whiff of Brett?? Fairly light in body with hard roasted malt accents and some sweetish licorice flavours. Subdued bitterness. But soft and pleasant. 120108 harrisoni (19529) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - SEP 27, 2006
Bottle - Bruxellensis Festival. Black with brown edges. Great portery aroma. Choc/coffee, but more of the coffee side. Nice deep flavours. Good porter. Oakes (19332) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - AUG 18, 2004
Red-tinged brown. Through the brewery says the sun will make it appear a traffic-light red. Smokey, coffeeish and very nutty aroma. Slightly dusty as well. soft and sweet body with cream, slight caramel, coffee notes. Smooth, sweet finish. Very clean, subtle. TBone (18542) - Pori, FINLAND - AUG 22, 2004
Opaque black, small but steady tanned head. Coffee, roasted, chocolaty nose. Hoppy, roasted medium-bodied brew but lacks malty backbone: typical to Huvila beers. Dry, woody aftertaste.
