COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Artevelde Grand Cru features a dark red-brown colour, a firm, creamy, and cream-coloured head. The smell of roasted malt, caramel and the sweet fruitiness of the alcohol give this beer the perfect aroma. Caramel, sweet fruitiness and a pleasant bitterness are the predominant flavours. Its aftertaste reveals a pinch of toffee and date. Ingredients: water, barley malt, hops, yeast. Triple fermented.

Bottled. Dark ambery brown colour with big beige foamy head, which leaves a lot of lacing. Aroma is caramel malts, some alcohol and mild fruity- and yeastyness. Pleasant. Flavour is raisins, caramel, sweet malts, some nectary and fruityness as well as mild hopping. Alcohol shows as a very slight glueish note being in the background. Biting carbonation.

Pale borwn. Sugary pineapple aroma. Rather full bodied, but the sweetness kills the flavour.

(Bottle 33 cl) Dark amber with a huge head. Very unclear - almost muddy appearance. Some spiciness - perhaps even coriander for Joris’ sake? But also a lovely malty feel, some toffee and caramel with a balancing bitterness in the finish. Nice indeed. 020198

Light and frothy dark brown ale. Subtle fruit to start leading to a milk chocolatey mid and then some tangy fruit and a dry malty finish. Decent!

Bottle at Academie de la Bière, Paris
Dark mahogany color, big head. Fruity aroma (banana) and candi sugar. Medium body strength, some caramel flavor and some sweetness, with a late light fruitness (banana again) and sweet liquorice. Not exciting.
