Malty. Caramel, licorice notes. Very light bitterness. Deep copper brown clear with thin tan head. Med heavy carb with med watery body. Malty caramel taste. Dry. Weak & watery. Weak sour coffee. Light bitter acidic finish but very clean after. Not what I would guess as a stout. omhper (25351) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - AUG 5, 2003
Bottled. Dark ruby with rich creamy head. Sweet and clean with some plum and licorice. Empty for such a big beer with a salty metallic finish. RichardGretton (4770) - Leicestershire, ENGLAND - JUN 23, 2003
Plain almost black beer with a slight coffee aroma like a stout, but that's where the similarities end. The flavour is fruity and leaves a fizz on the tongue. Overall a disappointing beer as it is a Belgian ale crossed with a stout.
