Reviewed from notes.
The appearance was a fairly dark red almost brown color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that fell off at a moderate pace. Light stringy sliding lace.
The aroma had some mild roast with some nuts, light dough, banana and earthiness, somewhat like leather.
The flavor did a decent job of blending the prior mentioned aromas together fairly nice. Sly aftertaste of banana, nuts and earth. Finishes fairly quick.
The feel was about medium bodied with a decent sessionability about it. Mild carbonation. Good ABV.
Overall, nice enough brown ale worthy of more pours for me if I could get it again even though where did that banana come from, different, and unsure if it was intentional. j12601 (13099) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - MAY 1, 2012
On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear ruby to crimson brown with a medium large beige to tan head. Nutty roast bitterness, funky dirt, infections. Stinky, eggy, and sulfurous. Medium bodied, sweet and smoky, nutty. Very disconnected. What is this? Very strange. Dark oxidized sweetness. Thin and sweet. Lingering smoke on the finish. Quite a wreck.
