Cask at the Standing Order. Pours clear reddish brown, nose is light caramel, chocolate, taste is similar. Finn (8149) - Tromsø, NORWAY - FEB 15, 2014
NWAF 25 Jan 13. Ultradyprød / svart. Veldig lavt lagskum - nærmest en tynn film. Svakt røstet aroma med innslag av karamell. Tynn på smak. Litt druer. Vassent helhetsinntrykk.

Served by hand pump at NWAF, half pint shared with Finn. Nice mahogany coloured body. Hints of dark berries to the nose. Mild taste of marmalade and roasted malts. Short ending, dry, watered in the mouth. Easy going mild (Manchester, 25.01.2013). RichTheVillan (8248) - Birmingham, West Midlands, ENGLAND - OCT 19, 2012
Retro reviews from Spring 2012 Wetherspoons Beer festival; dark mild with some roast malts very bland. hrothgar950 (141) - Mabelvale, Arkansas, USA - JUN 22, 2012

Pleasant tasting mild with a slightly smoked taste giving the ale a nice finish. tombyars (1768) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - APR 24, 2012
Tasted this in the Salt Cot, Saltcoats (JDW) in April 2012. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear dark mahogany in colour with a thin off white head. Warm yeasty dough in the short aroma. Thin and watery mouthfeel and good lacing. Mixed malts give a moist maltloaf flavour with figs and molasses just about in there but fades fast. Dry dusty note from the hop resins add a short bite to the brief aftertaste. Finish is malty with woody notes but alas soon starts to run out of legs though. An ok session mild but not up there with the best of them. madmitch76 (25568) - , Essex, ENGLAND - APR 15, 2012

Liberty Bell Spoons. Clear dark amber beer, good pale tan head. Light dry palate with fine carbonation. Tangy apple! Dry finish. Appears to be to young and thus a bit rubbish!
Cask conditioned at a Wetherspoons. Dark chestnut with tan head. Fruity nose leading to a wet cardboard, grainy flavour, touch tartish, metallic with an underlying sweetness. Average. Nocturne (1992) - Cheshire, ENGLAND - APR 7, 2012
Cask at JDW. Very dark ruby beer. Initial thoughts are good, as the berry fruit character shines through. But there’s a disappointingly sour, soapy taste, and the body is watery. There are far better milds out there.
