The other ratings here seem a bit harsh to me. It’s a pretty interesting brew. Very smoky and peppery, with quite a bit of roasted flavor as well. Definitely unique, but I think that’s a good thing. Reminds me a little of Trois Pistoles but with a spicier profile. Travlr (24913) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - DEC 6, 2014
Draft. Dark brown color, beige head. Aroma of burning wood, mixed fruit and spice. Taste is spice, burnt embers. Strange. Nice nose art though. djd07 (14603) - Houston, Texas, USA - NOV 22, 2014
Bottle thanks to Chow. Pours a dark amber with large frothy off white head. The aroma is roasted malt and dark fruit. Medium mouthfeel with strong raisin, dark fruit, light dryness, good TXBadger (2811) - Dallas, Texas, USA - MAY 28, 2014
Pours almost brown with off-white head. Sugar, pecans, and malt on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes sweet and nutty. brokensail (16449) - Dublin, California, USA - MAY 9, 2014
Bottle @ 10K + OT. Thanks, Bobby. Dark amber pour with a white head. Chocolate covered banana, some caramel, pepper, and burnt nut aromas. Hints of smoke and cardboard. The taste has a weird dessert sweetness of chocolate, banana, and applesauce, but is also astringent and papery. Black pepper, smoke, cardboard, and roasted malt. Burnt, bitter nuts, some apple skin, and a light acidity. What the hell is this?

Smell is band aid funky yeast. Taste is similar too but better than smell. Not too smoky, but more so yeasty. Wasn’t a fan. Mora2000 (6158) - McKinney, Texas, USA - MAR 9, 2014
Bottle. Dark brown pour with a tan head. The aroma and flavor have some nice light roasted malt and toffee malt as well as a hint of dark fruit and Belgian yeast notes. I also get some candy sugar notes. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. mansquito (6438) - Nueva York, New York, USA - JAN 14, 2014
Moontower, Houston tap: Pours dark amber with an off-white head. The taste was described to me as potentially smoky and nutty, but I don’t think that I got either of those tastes really strong in there. The hibiscus was certainly present and generally, the beer was fruity, malty, and a bit sweet, which was fine on the slightly cold Houston night outside. I think they were trying to do something, but it didn’t quite work out for them. Errl (2442) - Plano, Texas, USA - JAN 10, 2014

Poured a medium brown with faint head. Slight smoke nose but no heavy smoke in the mouth. Wanted to rate higher, but not a good saison.
