courtesy of fishingnet. Thanks for this beer and the awesome Ice Harbor mustard.
pours golden, white head.
Aroma hoppy with notes of malts and cheese like yeast.
Taste, hoppy, sugary, some caramel malts and a nice full body mouthfeel. Ibrew2or3 (8614) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - APR 3, 2009
Big thanks to fishingnet for hauling this back from the NW. Pours hazy deep gold with thin white head. The aroma is thick slick malts and pine to grassy to citrus hops to go along with a sense of honey. The taste is pure yum with sticky chewy sweet malts, pine hop bitterness, some citrus hops, more sweet malts and a tasty layer of black tea. The hops and malts run together with some tasty harmonious vibrations. kiefdog (1826) - Tampa, Florida, USA - APR 13, 2009
Bottle courtesy of fishingnet. Pours a hazy golden color with clearly visible floaters and a thin white head. Aroma is sweet and floral with notes of caramel, honey, vanilla, boozy, some hints of ripe dark fruit. Flavor is sweet and malty with notes of honey, caramel, ripe dark fruit, some floral hops in the background. Generally medium body with a pleasing malty and slightly hoppy finish. Over a year old, this batch had some time to age. Appearance is orange-amber with a creamy beige cover. Rich fruity aroma that splinters into apricot, tangerine, dark candied fruits, and zesty fruit punch. The body is of juicy fruitiness and chocolate. Apricot, tangerine, and fruity punchy notes all emerge. Medium-bodied, even a bit thin over the palate. No off-flavors and quite quaffable. after4ever (8025) - Mukilteo, Washington, USA - SEP 25, 2008
12-oz at The Stumbling Monk. Thanks, Nugget! Pours a bright murky golden (if that makes any sense) under a thick, creamy, moussy tan head. Enormous brown bread and sweet yeast nose, really tons of cereal sugars knocking around in here. Creamy, thick body. Toffee, butterscotch, and caramel on the mid-palate, with some piney/resiny notes tying off the finish. I would probably go hoppier and set this up to have more tobacco and leather left from the hops when they’re done, ’cause there’s just a zoo of unfermented sugar in here for the yeast to work on. It’s a tidy BW, just so insanely malty, biscuity, and bready.

Bottle, split with mcberko. Pours an orange / red with fine white lacing. Aroma of candied sugar, red fruits, syrup, caramel, molasses, honey, and some marzipan. Flavour of marzipan, booze, caramel, candied sugar, dark fruits, molasses, some roasted coffee and lightly burnt wood. Light carbonation, lightly bitter, sweet, but not cloying. Flavour is not as well rounded as hoped. Gusler (2653) - Tucson, Arizona, USA - JAN 10, 2002
Pours a deep brown color, with a moderate beige head and fair lace. Nose is malt with slight hints of caramel, the middle is medium, the finish some what semi-sweet, dry, and a nice hop presence. Average as BW’s go, not great, but drinkable.

Clear dark amber color/ ivory head. Honeydew melon, pit fruit, marshmallow aromas. Smooth medium body. Nicely sweet n’ sharp caramel, marshmallow, pit fruit flavors with some spicy alcohol twang to finish--good CampesinoTino (800) - Seattle, Washington, USA - SEP 9, 2013
Bottle brewed on 3/15/2012, 10.1% ABV. Pours a light brownish amber color with sudsy beige foam. Mostly caramelized sugars, dark fruits and malt in the aroma with a bit of honey in the background. The taste starts with caramel, raisin and toasted malt flavors that lead to notes of orange citrus, resiny hops and vanilla. Mild creaminess in the body along with low carbonation and a dry, malty finish. Straightforward American style Barley Wine with pretty good balance overall.
