Bottle from the brewery. Pours a cloudy and very dark brown color with a moderate pillowy light tan head on there. Nose is fresh and hoppy, with some good floral and herbal notes to it. Taste is moderately bitter with a slightly sweet finish, and just a hint of some winter spices to it. Quite pleasant, I think. andrewje41 (4091) - Kenmore, Washington, USA - DEC 24, 2015
22 oz bottle poured. Last years winter bottle equals this years enjoyment. Cloudy caramel color with a lasting soap bubble head. Rich malt and spiced aroma. Matching flavor with a dominant hop presence. Cool finish. Very well executed winter ale. Very nice. TXBadger (2811) - Dallas, Texas, USA - APR 29, 2014
Pours a cloudy/hazy amber color with off-white head. Citrus, pine, caramel malt, and some wheat on the nose; follow onto the palate. This actually has quite a bit going on for the style. Finish lingers a while. Reid (2588) - Salem, Oregon, USA - JAN 10, 2014
22 oz bomber bought from "Roths Sunnyslope Market"

Cloudy dark amber, very turbid large thick and creamy eggshell white head. Nice.
Very nice resiny and floral hop aromas..malts seem strong in the nose also.
Taste is the same well hopped but really nice treacle flavoured malts..liked it.
Great mouth feel thick and medium carbonated..love this aspect.

22 oz. bottle, my bottle reads 7.0%- Pours a murky brownish red with an off white to tan one finger head. Aroma is malt, mild hops, spicy. The taste is like a winter warmer with an extra hop kick, another beer that I think is misclassified. Beers that blend genres, how do you pinpoint what they are, this is definitely not an IPA, it reminds me of Grand Teton Bitch Creek ESB, only with more hops, and that beer is Extra Special Brown. There is a definite Brown Ale taste to it, but again with more hops, whatever. Body is moderately light, carbonation is medium to almost low. Overall decent enough. 19Ei8hty (1166) - Washington, USA - MAY 31, 2011
A hearty helping of roast malt. Moderate sweetness with a rich caramel and earthy character. Abundant citrus and pine. A little thinner than expected but still stands on its own. Nena (963) - Seattle, Washington, USA - MAR 11, 2011
Hazed dark brown pour, thin white head of fine bubbles. Smells caramelly and resinous. Bready, toasty, caramel body with a moderate hop resin bitterness on the finish, some citrus and herbal notes to it. Gets a touch watery somewhere in the middle but starts and finishes rather well. Bomber. Citrus, pine, caramel, nuts, spice and something roasted. Medium bitterness. Tasty.
