Big boy can ice cold. I actually purchased this beer to give to a guy hanging outside the liquor store bumming, but when I saw how messed up he was when I exited I couldn’t in good conscience give it to him. So it sat in my fridge for a month starring at me, til I gave in. I drank ice house for the better (or worser) portion of the late 90’s, this is the same but stronger. If you are on Rate Beer trying to decide whether or not to buy this beer your life has obviously taken an awful turn, and you need the advise of a professional, not me. trexibmer (60) - - MAY 18, 2015
Sorry I tried and even finished this 24oz. can. Nothing other than gassy low octane ethanol here. Alcohol maybe at 8% ABV and a headache an hour later! Not sure what I was even thinking by picking this one up. Not sure what Plank Road was thinking with this. A mistake for sure. The regular Icehouse offering is, can I say it, a bit better. At least regular Icehouse is drinkable for an ice beer...barely. vipinvelp (4643) - Velp, NETHERLANDS - MAY 12, 2015
Clear yellow, small white foam ring. Not a pleasant aroma, barnyard. Taste is dominated by alcohol. (Memphis 201505) johnnnniee (4493) - Bedford, New Hampshire, USA - MAY 11, 2015
25oz can after too many hours of painting.
Corn, apples, a bit sweet with a displeasing alcohol flavor. I couldn’t finish it. nuplastikk (6655) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - MAR 3, 2015
Big can shared by Ben. Filtered urine color. Decent head at first, then fades completely out in a minute. Pretty horrendous aroma. Buttery garbage factory juice. Doesn’t taste as bad as it smells. Like a real cheap, bad Belgian blonde ale. Corny, sugary. Lacks any enjoyable qualities. Not the worst malt liquor I’ve had.

24 oz. can. Pours a clear bright gold with an inch of fizzy soft white head that leaves some lace and rising small bubbles in the glass. Notes of corn, straw, apple, lemon, white bread, cereal, and a slightly sour mash kind of note. Medium-bodied, with medium carbonation and a corny, sweet mouthfeel that finishes dry. Average malted liquor. crossovert (14359) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - OCT 29, 2014
709 ml can. Served at near slush temps. Light clear godl in color. Flavor is actually one of the better malt liquors very clean. Fine prickling carbonation. It sucks and is a bti sweet but is much better than most high-grav. Frank (4267) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - OCT 17, 2014
This is a very fine and high quality malt liquor and those who deride it clearly know nothing of the style. It is perfectly clear and orange golden in the glass--though many prefer this style straight from the can or bottle--and has a short lived head of fine white bubbles. It smells faintly of grain--I would guess corn--w/o any heavy alcohol or other harsh flavors. This drinks rather light for a high gravity malt and only a touch of burn on the back of the tongue indicates its elevated strength. Brisk carbonation helps to cut some slight sweetness which is about the only flavor this beer offers. Overall, I’d call it a stretch to say this is a good beer but if we are being honest w/ ourselves here--which beer nerds seldom are in this regard--this has way fewer off-notes w/ way less to hide behind than your standard imperial stout and thus could objectively be considered to be a better beer. pokerdroid76 (1) - - AUG 25, 2014 does not count
I am new to this site and unsure how to properly describe this beer other than to say that it is the most God awful shit on the planet. My fathers description of bad beers fits it best: ROT GUT. It had me on the toilet for hours with the worst, most painful gas and unable to shit. Suffice it to say, DO NOT buy this "beer" unless you are suffering acute alcohol withdrawal and are about to die. Shame on you Miller, for standing behind such an inferior product. Poured from can into pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a light golden color with a fizzy one finger white head. The head fade very vast to leave almost no lacing.
Smell – Bready, corny, and sweet. While it is a more classic malt style aroma, it is a little fresher than most and doesn’t really have any metallic or papery smell. It even has a lighter lemon hop aroma. Not bad.
Taste – The taste begins of malt with some corn sweetness and a light citrus hop flavor. At the front it is smoother and somewhat pleasant, but then all goes downhill from there. At this point the citrus hop seems to give way to a metallic and alcohol flavor. These two flavors get stronger and drown out the nice flavors up front to leave a somewhat bitter, biting, burn on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the just above average side in terms of creaminess with a carbonation level that is very average.
Overall – While the aroma and initial tastes were quite nice for a malt, the finish to the taste was rather offensive. Not the best malt out there.
