rauchbier (3882) - Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, ENGLAND - JAN 24, 2007
Bottle conditioned, from Beer Cellar in Lincoln. Hazy gold, thin white head and low condition. Gentle nutty yeast and hop bitterness in the nose, slightly fruity tart in the mouth becoming more so in th finish, some nuttiness lingers.

An orange beer with sediment floating around and a thin off-white head. THe aroma is spicy with ginger coming strongly thru, while the flavor is dusty from the hops, combined with strong notes of ginger. chriso (7533) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 9, 2005
Bottle at GBBF, August 2005. Hazy golden appearance. Lots of lumpy yeast. The nose and palate are yeasty too. Tropical fruit and subdued spices. Some tart orange peel. More straightforward, and less depth, than I expected. I’m not entirely sure what 3,000 year old recipe influenced this but I’m not sure it sits too easily in the English Strong Ale category.

Bottled, GBBF 2005. Qiote fruity and vinious. Unpleasant yeasty finish. Left a lot of sediment in the glass. tiggmtl (4545) - East York, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 15, 2005
Tannin-full, tea-like aroma with strong spiciness and notes of oranges. Hazy tan body with low white, fully diminishing head and plenty of yeast in suspension. Tea-like flavour is lightly spicy with an orange character and light bitterness. Medium body with very low carbonation. Somewhat slick and sticky. Coats the teeth. Bottle sampled at GBBF 2005.

Bottle (GBBF): Spicy aroma, pepper & herbs. Sweetish fruits, herbacious finish. Reminiscent of a heather ale. Very hazy gold with white head. Chunks of yeast. Interesting. DanielBrown (4500) - Birmingham (via Leicester), West Midlands, ENGLAND - AUG 9, 2005
Bottle at GBBF 05 - thanks Kook! Cloudy yellow, with no head - looks flat. Warm, spiced fruit aroma. Pretty nice mix of flavours: warm clove, pineapple, honey and smidge of artificiality. Pretty good and engaging. maeib (8749) - Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, ENGLAND - AUG 8, 2005
Bottled Conditioned - GBBF 2005. A hazy orange coloured beer with a fruity aroma within which I could smell melons. The taste was quite sweet with more melon, pineapple and maybe honey. A touch cloying for me. harrisoni (18436) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - AUG 8, 2005
