750-ml bottle labeled Strubbe’s Grand Cru Flemish Red Ale, with a tag around the neck saying "50% young beer blended with 50% beer aged (for 2 years) in bordeaux wine barrels", from the-rare-beer-club @ beermonthclub. sweet more than sour, which is ok in my book. cherries, blackberries, strawberries. drinkable. cork flew 206.5 in.

Serving: from bottle--purchased at Total Wine & More. Aroma: light apple aroma. Appearance: huge, fizzy, light-brown, initial head with fair lacing and mostly lasting longevity. Dark red/brown body. Taste: moderately sour apple initial flavor and moderately sour, leathery finish with average duration. Palate: light bodied with dry texture, fizzy carbonation and metallic finish feel. Overall: excellent. Complex flavor. Thirst-quenching. I’d happily drink this again.

CONCLUSION : une bière à boire très calmement.

Bottle from Ale Yeah! in Decatur, GA. Deep amber colored. Delicious complex sour flavor but goes down easy.

---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A deep, reddish brown mahogany hue that pours clear with a frothy head. The aroma, as befitting the category, is sour with cheesy overtones. The taste is pronouncedly sour with an underlying complexity that hints at apple. The carbonation is lively and complements the sour profile of this ale.

Dark chestnut brown. Sour raisin smells. Tart fig grape, raisin with sweet malt oak back. Light medium body.

This is a cross between a sour red ale and a kriek. The flavor has a slighly sour fruity cherry flavor with a hint of smokiness. Extremely well rounded balanced beer that has a exceptional delicate vinous aroma and taste. The wine like character and deep reddish brown color could trick an amateur into thinking that this is a poorman’s wine concoction. This has all the chrarcteristics I enjoy in a beer and believe it would go great with and red meat entree.
