3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Purchased at Binny’s, May 2010. Everyone’s hosting sour beer events in advance of FoBAB, so I’m having one, too. With a soft French triple cream brie. Opened carefully since so many of my re-fermented beers have gushered, I instead get a happy "psssht!" and a deep, reddish-brown pours with a short, bubbly head. Smell is a little light in sourness. Probably a good thing, because my mind reaches to recall dirty gym towels for comparison. Luckily the taste helps drive that impression away. The usual tartness of sour cherries, but not very strong. Goes great with the last rinds of my cheese. In fact, after a bite of cheese, the beer seems sweeter. Alcohol is present, and of course it’s a little gassy. With all the strong flavors here, I can’t decided I taste the oak or not. I’ll just say being in a barrel gave it its own population of bugs for sourness.
Bottle at work. Pours reddish golden, nose is light oak, funk, balsamic, cherry, taste is tart, bretty, juicy fruit. ThreeCats (965) - ISRAEL - JUL 17, 2017
Clear light brown with a big tan head. Aroma vinous, woody, funky, horse blanket, caramel and fruit. Taste complex, wood, fruit, funk, with a nice but not overwhelming sweetness. Quite nice Bierridder_S (974) - BELGIUM - JUL 14, 2017

Red-brown colour, small rim as head. Nose is sour, cherries, wood. Taste is malty, chocolate, sour, cherries, some wood. Damn, Redbrowns are fantastic with some years. thellgren (1079) - Helsinki, FINLAND - JUL 13, 2017
0.33 l bottle @ Tuulensuu Gastropub, Tampere. Appearance is dark brown, almost black with white head. Taste is very malty and on the sweet side. There is hint of sourness too, but less than in the other beers I have sampled from this style. This is clearly Flanders Oud Bruin. thanatosti (1738) - Culemborg, NETHERLANDS - MAY 28, 2017
25 cl. bottle @ The Capital, Leuven.
Clear reddish brown with a thin off-white head. Dark fruit aroma with some tartness and some wine note. Sour taste with some underlying sweetness. Nice one.

Barwa bordowo rubinowa, klarowna, bia?a, ?redniej wielko?ci piana. Nie utrzymuje si? zbyt d?ugo
W aromacie intensywne nuty wanilii i mokre drewno, akcenty winne, wytrawne ale zarazem i s?odkie.
Smak owocowy, ponownie wanilia i drewno, na finiszy pojawia si? minimalna goryczka, lekko cierpka, sucha.
Nasycenie ?rednie w kierunku do wysokiego sprawdza si? idealnie. Rubin77 (2232) - Brussels / Bratislava, SLOVAK REPUBLIC - MAY 15, 2017

At Heeren van Liedekerke.
Aroma is more like an ordinary brown than like a Oud Bruin. Aroma of burned, roasted toast, dark fruits.
Poured dark red with a tan head.
Taste has raisins, fruits, something light sour, pearsyrup.
Finish is light acid with red fruits. Fizzy mouthfeel, yet soft. Dahlstrom (403) - Nygatan 29, SWEDEN - APR 14, 2017
UPDATED: APR 14, 2017 Light cloudy with a small white head. Lightly tart aroma, berries, oak. Taste: lightly sour, and a weird musty aftertaste. Low to medium body, dry texture. Low carbonation.
