On tap at IVBC. Pours black with a pretty, thick tan head. Aroma of sweet roasted malt, chocolate, fruity wine-like notes. Flavor is medicinal cherry up front with roasted malty notes in the finish. Hmm, an odd beer, I didn’t quite like it like I thought I was going to.

Very dark. Not much nose. Has the typical burnt fruit and bitterness of an impy, but the malts are husky and thin. OK. Beershine (5224) - VANCOUVER, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 24, 2011
Draft @ Canteen as part of Solstice Blackout sampler. Looks could be a 5, the head is so stable and brown, and the beer is pitch black and the lace is ample and even. 90%chocolate in the aroma. Exemplary stout this is....If I didn’t know better I’d swear this was barrel aged because the tannins on the tongue and overall dryness are astounding. The effect is of sucking a piece of 90 chocolate. Super dry! Tobacco. Cigar. Flavor are layered, a lite char. Lovely roast espresso. A beer for people who love dry, and I’ve been vibing off of dry tannic finishes lately. This beer is impressive and very easy to drink.
