This traditional dark mild won the bronze medal at the SIBA Northern region beer competition 2010 as well as being voted the winner in its class at Bradford beer festival 2010. The blend of 5 malts used in the mash give a smooth, mellow easy to drink malt flavour with a hint of liquorices in the finish.

Bottle 50cl. poured into a teku glass. Opaque ruby brown, small foamy tan head, mostly diminishing, heavy lacing; aroma roasted malts, chocolate, dark fruits, dark bread, licorice; taste medium sweet and bitter, roasted malts, caramel, chocolate; bittersweet aftertaste, chocolate, licorice notes, earthy touch; medium body, watery texture, soft carbonation; general impression is bit thin especially the finish but despite that quite nice.
