Keg at brewdog bar, sheffield. Black with a lacy off-white head. Aroma is herby and floral, reminds me of eucalyptus and a but of lavender. Taste is lovely and bitter, verging on ipa strength, get some smoke and coal too. Medium body and a bit fizzy for me, bet it’s ace on cask though. Nocturne (1992) - Cheshire, ENGLAND - DEC 6, 2012
UPDATED: DEC 18, 2013 More PSBH shenanigans. This is the base beer with added mulled spices and chinook hops. Emerges from the draught line a dark black with a short brown head. Big notes of spruce and pine in the aroma, almost like smelling a Christmas tree. Mulled spices are harder to find in both aroma and taste. The hops do work very nicely with the dark roast though. Impressively big mouthfeel for a beer of this strength. I can’t tell you if it’s much of an improvement on the original but once the novelty factor wore off it was fairly tough work to get through. Poured from keg at The Queens Head. The content of the half-pint mug was dark with a ruby tint and a shiny bright surface. Aroma of dark chocolate malts, slightly roasted. Bitter dark chocolate taste changing to an aftertaste of coffee grounds. Medium to thin bodied. Traditional, easy drinking stout (London, 23.11.2012). cgarvieuk (25224) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - OCT 6, 2012

On keg at Brigantes. A black beer with a decent light tan head. Aroma of caramel, chocolate and roasty malt. Similar flavours with moderate carbonation and a creamy mouth-feel. Lovely lingering roasty malt and burnt toast.

Keg Mr Foleys Leeds. A milky black beer with a big creamy off-white head. Looks just like a nitro stout. There are pleasant roasty malts in the nose. Lots of coffee in the mouth. Pretty bitter but creamy of texture. A decent effort.
