Cask handpull at The Falcon Clapham with the diveball on the big screen, unfortunately. The things I’ll subject myself to for a tick. As Ilkley Ruby Jane Ruby Mild. Dark brown with an amber hue, still with a foamy off white head. Aroma is wood chip, toffee brittle, dark dense breads. Body is smooth with soft carbonation. Taste is quite watery, notes of stewed red apple and bread, slightest raspberry, soft cocoa note, light astringency that builds over time. A pretty plain mild. Pleasant weak coffee aroma. Rusty brown, small loose head. Slightly earthy malty body, a little sweet, but quite mushroomy. Finish quite earthy. Not so thirstquenching, and a bit rough in places.
