Rhubarb Saison
Brewed with renowned writer, Melissa Cole, author of bestseller "Let Me Tell You About Beer". We have used world famous Yorkshire rhubarb to add a hint of sourness. There is earthy spice from the Saison yeast, and fresh vanilla to bring out the sweet notes from a blend of Noble Central European hops. A rich golden colour, this naturally hazy Saison is truly a world beer, refreshing on the palate, with a long, satisfying bittersweet finish. Due to popular demand, Siberia will now join our permanent list in bottle and keg. Siberia is now exported and available in the US

50cl bottle at taboo. Smell of fresh pinewood mushrooms. Golden color almost clear, big white head, reducing, no lacing. Aroma of sour apples, lemon, currant, vinegar. Some funky notes i can’t get what those are. Taste is pure acid, and so is the finish. This one doesn’t speak my language, yuck. God how i hate sour beer, i didn’t know this was one, and i generally like saisons.

Bottle from Morrisons. Pours with a haze. Dirty gold. Not much of a head. Aroma has a gentle sourness. Bit of farmyard funk. Real cider vinegar. Apple. Light hay. Taste has a biscuity malt sweetness. Herbal hops. Apple candy. Some green apple sharpness also. Quite tart. Soft sourness. Dry, slightly astringent towards the finish. A little thin in body and restrained carbonation. The abv doesn’t show. Not the best Saison I’ve tried but quaffable anyhow.

500ml bottle at home, present from Andrew Ross (bb 9 Aug 2017), yeasty, fruity, rhubarb aroma, golden with a thin short-lived white head, toffee, fruity, banana flavour, well balanced, some rhubarb in the finish.

Clean darkish gold in colour, white head is thin, nose is of spice/sweet apple crumble quite pleasant! Palate is medium bodied with spicy notes, quite tart, especially on the longish finish. Good beer, although I couldn’t pick out any specific rhubarb characters other than the tartness. Liked it!

50cl bottle from Morissons.
No head. Clear amber pour. A decent saison. I don’t get the rhubarb which isn’t a bad thing cos I hate rhubarb

500 ml. bottle bb 03 2015. Mostly clear orange-amber body has some mild bubbly activity that supports a lasting film of cream. Nose is lightly tart fruit and caramel apple. Flavor is the same with a finish of pecan, pithy wood and a hint of smoke. Medium body has smooth medium carbonation and a very drinkable balance. Interestingly different and tasty.
