(Bottle 50 cl) The head of this beer is simply fantastic: it pours out of the bottle as soon as you remove the swing top and rises tall and full in your glass where it settles solidly almost like shaving foam without ever completely going flat. Very fruity and fresh scent, almost like a German wheat. And the wheaty freshness continues into the aroma which is incredibly fresh and pure with a rather discreet bitterness. A pilsener by German/Bavarian standards and quite amazing.

It has new bottle! More convenient... But the beer is good, quite heavy, malt with some smoke flavour. Luckily Ilzer didn’t kill the bitter hop-fruit taste from this beer. I like it well. Foam disappear in a minute, it’s wrong. It hasn’t much CO2, just what have to be in a pilsner.

0.5l bottle. Pale golden colour with a broad pored and quickly diminishing head, average carbonation. Smell of hops, yeast and a few malt, taste’s sweetish and sharp. Mainly mild (citrus)fruity aroma of malt and some grassy hops, finish’s a light bitter, which remains pleasantly, body’s medium. This time a nice bottle from Ilzer.

Bottle, 4.8%. Mild fruity aroma. Clear golden colour. Small unstable white head. The flavour is quite subtle, slightly malty. Medium bitterness.

I strongly disagree with Heavy’s evaluation abt this beer. Golden color, with huge head, vy solid, lasts vy long. Nose is complex and bitter and soury. Aroma is soft and bitterly crisp even without being overly carbonated. Bitterness is mild, too bad it flattens out this much.

0.5l bottle purchased at a Kaiser’s in Budapest, shared with heavy. Clear pale golden body small head that went away fast. Weak grainy nose. Weak dry sweetish malty taste, slightly woody ever so lightly yoghurty. Not bad at all, tastier than most Hungarian big lagers if not all, but too weak.

UPDATED: MAR 15, 2008 Nowadays this beer get wrong than a few years ago. It has a featureless character, only a simple lager. But i’ve drink it in 2006 and it was a good one with nice hop and herbal-yeast flavour, big head and moderated carbonation. But now it has a thiner body with some hoppy and malty taste, pale golden color and a little white head. So this beer had changed...

Extraordinarily pale, sun-dried yellow color with weak fizzy head. Aroma of malt, grassy hops with some metallic edge. Grainy, nutty, malty based flavor with crisp grassy hoppy ending. Rather ordinary than good or bad.
